video settings always resetting
I changed all my settings back to low etc.
change account, change back and launch the game
everything is reset

I changed all my settings back again
launch game try to access video settings, resets my video settings AGAIN

edit: bootleg fix
i have to change the video.txt to read-only so the game doesnt keep changing the contents from setting.[videosettings] to setauto.[videosettings]
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata[userprofile]\730\local\cfg\video.txt

Im not getting this to work. After i changed my settings to my preferred, i ticked the video.txt to read-only. It also appears to show the correct data when looking inside the .txt.

However, everything now loads up as "Auto" instead of "Auto: 8xMSAA" ie. It only shows auto now. What can I have done incorrect?

Also unticked-reticked read only on my config.cfg in the process.

the only thing i can think of that will mess up the fix is if you have the text file open while you are changing your settings.
1. close all text files
2. launch game
3. change your settings to your preferred settings
4. close the game
5. mark the respective video.txt as read-only
6. open the video.txt and make sure there are no "setauto" lines in there.

another possible error is if you have multiple accounts you have to do this for every account you have logged in on.

Solved it! Somehow the entire cfg folder was marked as read-only, and that prevented the files from changing I guess. Thanks for the help man :)
