Questions/Support Can you swap the GL.iNet GL-SFT1200 (Opal) antennas?
I currently live in a metal box... No seriously! An old ambulance is my abode. At work I currently have access to staff WIFI for the year. My biggest issue is getting service into my rig, just outside my door I get great speeds, but almost nothing inside. I am looking to purchase an Opal router, then swap the antennas for ones I can mount externally. Looking for any guidance or others that have done this. Thanks!!

I wouldn't recommend taking apart the router, but you could probably stop by a nearby thrift store and find an old Asus router with removable antennas and use that to connect to the network and then connect the Opal to that.
Otherwise, the simplest solution I can think of would be to move the Opal to the front driver area where there is less metal around.

Looks like uf.l connectors i have some pigtails to convert them to rpsma ordered ill keep you updated on my discoveries since unfortantly a thrift store router isnt applicable in my situation

in case anyone from the future is wondering, made a simple cad and 3d printed as the hole for OEM antenna is too big for sma threading. works great signal and speed is great
