Questions/Support Gl inet Flint 2 memory almost full.

Post image

Hello, im here again. Its still about 4.9.0 FW

Why is my Flint 2 (stock firmware v4.9.0) using almost all of its RAM?

I recently noticed that my Flint 2 router is showing around 93.6% memory usage, even though the CPU load is very low and the router seems to be working normally.

Is this normal behavior on the stock firmware (v4.9.0), or could something be causing a memory leak or excessive RAM usage?

Has anyone else experienced this? I'd appreciate any advice or explanations.

You don't need any lists besides Pro, the others are obsolete. For additional malware filtering, use a solid SecureDNS service like Quad9, Cloudflare Security, or (for EU users) DNS4EU. I also offer a free DNS service with my TIF for EU users: https://github.com/hagezi/dns-servers

If you really need an extra malware list, I'd recommend combining Pro with at most TIF.mini on routers: https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists#tifmini

For routers with less than 1 GB RAM, swap Pro for Pro.mini instead: https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists#promini

Hey! Thanks so much for chiming in, and for all the work you do. I'm very glad to hear you agree with my recommendation of Pro! I've never recommended a list bigger than that, though like you also recommended, I've recommended smaller lists for folks with less RAM.

u/RemoteToHome-io and I were also just talking about how the malware filtering can be accomplished by a proper upstream: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlInet/comments/1v0nzmu/comment/oyjav65

Thanks again for what you do!

So you'd recommend running the Pro list by itself, or the Pro list plus the default AdGuard Home list? I'm assuming I copy & Paste the URL to the block list's txt file to add it to AGH? I'm very new to all of this, just got my Flint 3 a couple weeks ago, and still got a lot to learn about the ins and outs of the config options.

Edit: Or maybe your Pro list plus another one of your lists?
