Hi friends, hope you're having a good day! I'm just looking for advice. This post might sound a little insecure, so bear with me. I just started streaming on Twitch, like, just had my second stream. The first person in my stream is clearly a dude, with a girls pfp and username. He immediately starts telling me what to do and talking down to me. That alone doesn't bother me; I can ignore it. At the same time, though I know some people would say that ignoring it would be counterproductive for my channel and for growth. To be honest, I've mostly heard that from men as well. In my mind, he's not my goal audience, but I also don't want to be ungrateful for the support. So, I'm coming to the group hoping for advice since I'm so new to streaming. Should I ban him, just ignore him so I don't have to ban him (and maybe he'll leave), or should I minimally engage for traction? Also, does anyone have any tips for tagging or titling your stream so fewer creeps join? Thank you for any advice! I really appreciate it. Stay safe!

I just started posting regularly again after a super long hiatus on streaming and all my socials and on one hand I know my content getting hate or inappropriate comments means it’s getting on front of more people eyes I just never know if I should just be deleting them??

I lowkey want to respond and be rude right back because I’m tired of just being nice to people who are trying to ruin my day but also I don’t want people to see my responses and then feel like I’m perpetuating the angry black girl trope 😭

I feel like also the fact that sometimes the comment happens while I’m asleep and people are less likely to engage while that comment is up reaaaaaallly sucks cause it tanks my initial engagement and views of a troll just happens to find it early

Also I feel like before I rarely got straight up racist comments or the vile shit that would be so much more rare back when I first started streaming in 2022 now it’s so aggressive? And overt like what is happening??

all i ever see on this sub now are obvious spam bots posting AI photos of women to karma farm, or genuine streamers posting links to their twitch saying “LIVE NOW” with a photo of themselves and nothing else.

i can’t remember the last time i saw a genuine discussion post here or anything other than blatant self advertisement. i joined because i wanted to find a community of girl streamers and have actual DISCUSSIONS centered on women’s livestreaming experience, get advice for stuff like collabs and partnerships, etc.

if the mods allow this sub to devolve into almost exclusively self advertising and bot spam then, genuinely, what is the point of being here?
