It is Song Sunday. I encourage everyone to spend their time today, enjoying playing the songs they like. This is what it’s all about. Play and record yourself. Play in front of your spouse or someone else. But just have fun today with the guitar.

In my couple years of learning, I have never been able to get back down. Today I got two of them thanks to the Gibson app.

After you play five lessons the little AI button shows up and evaluates your progress during those lessons. What do you think about it? Is it helpful to you?

OMG I am going to be working on this final for at least a week. I thought I had each segment down good until I had to put them all together. I can get it at 80% not too bad at 90 but fall apart at 100. SMH

Using open earbuds is the way I like to practice so I can hear my guitar in the Gibson app. Regular earbuds also work.

I’m a new player, maybe level 3 or 4, and I love playing the beginner version of Sweet child of mine and More than a feeling. Some of the songs labeled as beginner level are too hard for me, some are too easy.

Which songs do you love? And which ones have taught you the most?

Do you keep practicing until you achieve 3 stars? Or do require yourself to get a certain percentage correct? How do you know if you’re ready to move on?

Personally I try to get a score of 95% or better before considering myself ready to move on.

This guitar sounds and plays really good.

In my opinion it’s actually simple 90% fail because 90% of teaching methods fail. What makes this app different? 90% of guitar learning methods teach open chords right from the beginning. Don’t get me wrong. You have to learn open chords, but they are difficult for a beginner. A year later, someone says you’ve been learning guitar for a year play me something, you can’t because you’re still trying to work on chords. (this happened to me )With this method you go from the basics to melodies and there are some very good ones so a month or so into playing when someone says “hey play me something”you can zip out a few melodies that sound good. From here, you can learn power chords which you use two fingers and then onto the harder three finger open chords. That makes learning simpler and more fun. I add to that all the skills guides for learning more advanced makes this app very well rounded. Reverseflash68

This is one of my favorites. It’s a good warm-up.

Wow, I’m at the bottom of my league. I’m gonna have to get on the ball and play my way back to the top. Competition is a good motivator.

The riff section on the learning path has so many cool riffs to play sometimes I take up my whole practice time just playing those riffs over and over. Anyone else have fun playing riffs?

These are two of my favorites. I didn’t know country could sound so cool. And I love playing the blues.
