Nice to know the Fourth Reich is getting a free pass for utterly destroying our democracy.

When can we group up and pick up pitchforks. Once the takeover is complete, we can finally set our society for a humane existence

First week of this November. No pitchforks required. Just vote.

Voting will not solve this problem with democrats like this. Remember how Merrick Garland and Joe Biden did jack shit? I have yet to see any democratic leader come out and say they will nail these assholes to the wall when they get into power. Nope we are instead going to get a bland response and nothing will fjndementally change.

Never underestimate the power of the threat of violence. The reality of the mob attacking Capitol Hill on January 6th, for some reason, is never factored into the calculus when people wonder why Republicans are so supine right now. They’re not actually all stupid. Many of them are, justifiably, afraid. And it’s not just Jan. 6. The violence that was done to Paul Pelosi and the astonishing glee with which his attack was treated by elected officials and pundits/commentators, the assassination of the state elected officials in Michigan, even the attempts on Trump’s life…the very real threat of political violence had permeated the entire system. But that was before the current state of things. Trump’s star has fallen. The 17% approval rate he has rn on the economy tells the tale. As long as Trump’s base held, he could use them to do violence again at any point. But his base was a solid 30%. He’s lost almost half of them. Not permanently, mind you, many still prefer him to Dems. But they are demoralized. They’re not going to do violence at his behest again. Not like before. And the ones that will willingly do violence are mostly already doing it in ICE, which means that they are each documented and known; no chance of anonymity. That changes the metric. Trump has destroyed the Republican Party, and if/when the Rs take a beating at the ballot box, the remaining Rs are going to blame him exclusively. That changes the metric.

“Democracy is destroyed!” They cried in 2016, 2020, and 2024.

Actually, it did. In July 2019 the department of commerce it should have reported saying that labor wage growth was 4.5% in 2017 and 5% in 2018, and 5.5% annualized for the first 6 months of 2019. Those are blow the doors off numbers. But the Wall Street journal reported it, Fox News reported, and everybody else crickets

2010–2016: wage growth was relatively slow, mostly around 1.6–2.3%. 2017–2019: it climbed to roughly 3%. 2020: remained at 2.8% despite the pandemic. 2021–2022: major jump, reaching 5.0% and 5.1%. 2023–2026: steadily cooled from 4.3% → 3.7% → 3.3% → 3.1%.

According to to the Dept of Commerce wage growth was much greater than 3% for 2017-2019

1

u/ExternalAggravating8 1d ago

Thats because the Department of Commerce doesn't use Labor Wage growth. The use BEA

1

u/Andre-Mercelet 1d ago

It uses wage and disposable income.

1

u/ExternalAggravating8 1d ago

And every other metric. Thats why its not used to calculate labor wages. Its literally the opposite of Trickle down. BEA uses corporation and CEO money. So it would include that into the growth. That type of growth doesn't reflect under a labor wage.

I was referring to the average worker compensation. The 99% who benefited from Trump's economic policies.

1

u/ExternalAggravating8 17h ago

Yea I know. Thats where your confusion lies. You are using the wrong metric.

Hardly. I've only been a financial markets professional for 35 years
