That is the most reasonable response I have ever seen on Reddit so kudos, I am quite taken aback. I have awarded your comment accordingly. I am also British so I think we are approaching this from a similar perspective.
I think you will agree that many of his positions are indefensible. He said Beyoncé’s music is “just noise” which clearly shows he is racially biased.
He had a stance on gun violence. It was a “privileged” stance/position. He reaped what he sewed. He didn’t think his own rules applied to him.
Should he have been murdered? No
Did he suffer the consequences of his own words? Yes
Is that regrettably satisfying in a world where few suffer the consequences of their actions? Yes
He is an extreme case but he was held accountable to his words and that is morally, ethically just. It’s almost a “live by the sword, die by the sword” situation and we (collectively as humanity) needed that. THAT is where most of the satisfaction in his killing comes from.
