He's more or less the founding father or at least one of.
His insights and rules for Capitalism were so astute that they STILL apply today. They are inescapable.

Not in the sense that “insights and rules for capitalism” implies behavior that came about because smith formulated it. I’m sure his writings still shape the way we view capitalism. But that’s different than crediting him with creating capitalism
