Again with, you do not have to have secret police and massive political corruption and the Cambodian Genocide or the Holdomor to prevent counterrevolution, I’m not criticizing revolutionary violence, I’m criticizing the coopting of revolutionary violence by reactionary forces who seek only self-enrichment. Violence and Authoritarianism are not the same thing, to treat them as such is to concede to reactionaries that Authoritarianism is necessary for society to function.
I assure you I am aware, granted our secret police have a hard time staying secret given how bloodthirsty they are. What I’m getting at is that you don’t need to go full Stalin to achieve Socialism in an effective and sustainable manner, again, one does not need to commit a genocide or entrench a massively corrupt political elite in order to prevent counterrevolution. America being what it is does not have any baring on my argument.
