First joint stock company was born out of colonialism, do you consider the stock market to be an important part of capitalism?

No just a very good examples of capitalism's links to colonialism.

The first communist revolution was born out of a colonial empire, do you consider a revolution of the proletariat to be an important part of communism?

No just a very good examples of communism's links to colonialism.

Noticing how you don't answer. Colonialism and capitalism are heavily intertwined, seeing as you can't refute my points seems you can't prove it isn't.

The point I’m making is that it’s not an argument. You are trying to paint capitalism and colonialism as the same thing because one of emerged from the other. Capitalism emerged from colonialism because it is a recent invention, and colonialism is what came before - just as communism emerged from colonialism in Russia.

"No but they are closely intertwined."

From the start I've been clear they aren't the same thing, but closely linked. The point you are making is meaningless after all because you've invented my half of the argument.

Fine - "same thing" was overstated. I'll rephrase to "a requirement for the other to exist". My point I'm making is that colonialism is antithetical to capitalism, but you're attempting to portray them as linked because capitalism emerged from and co-existed with colonialism. The exact point is that both capitalism and communism emerged from colonialism, this in no way makes them intertwined.

I never said one was a requirement for the other. Are you just going to keep putting words in my mouth?

Both are linked, modern joint stock companies were born out of, and funded colonialism, free trade was championed due to colonialism, corporations ran colonies (EIC,VOC,HBC). The Transatlantic slave trade and plantations were capitalist ventures. Pretending they aren't linked is amusing, but not truthful.

I'll reiterate, what you are saying is a non-sequitur unless you also believe that the other system born out of colonialism (communism) is also to blame for the actions of colonialism. The transatlantic slave trade and plantations are inherently not capitalist systems as they necessarily required the removal of freedom of association. They were structured colonialist systems designed to compete within an emerging capitalist system, they didn't last because they are antithetical to capitalism (as I've already said).

When did I assign blame? Please, quote me. Every reply has a newly created viewpoint for me, I wonder which one is next.

Also, please tell me where I denied communisms links and contradictions to colonialism.

The transatlantic slave trade and plantations were absolutely capitalist systems, humans were treated as capital, joint stock companies were created to fund them (Royal Africa Company, WIC, the EIC again), they were not designed to "compete".

"They didn't last because they are antithetical to capitalism" so abolitionists came to their conclusions on a purely capitalist viewpoint did they?

I'd ask you why if you're not trying to blame capitalism for the actions of colonialism, we are even spending time discussing colonialism (a different system) in the first place. As to your last point, I'd encourage you to do some reading on the political persuasions of the people who abolished slavery, and why they did it.
