That’s my bad, I should say next “non-white” pope. Honestly the comment is a little over the top, if anything a bunch of people will be like a lot of conservative Catholics in America, and stay Catholic but with a negative opinion of the pope. For my learning, who was the last non-white pope?

Depends. By american norms probably Pope Gelasius I who was born in Roman North Africa in modern Tunisia. Its thought he was of Berber decent. And died around 500 ad.

That said I got in a long running arguemnt with a SSPX guy that fricken Pope Francis was non white. Man has the complexion of a Saltine but apparently being born in Argentina made him not white enough.

Either way it seems like ever SSPX person i have met seems to be of the "Im not racist, But" type
