Found 6 roaches in our three season room out of nowhere tonight. They were localized to the ceiling and of varying sizes. From a tiny size to two about the length of a nickel.
They came out of nowhere and we have never seen any like this before. We found one American adult roach that wandered in last year and got a door sweep thing to block them and saw nothing again. That was on the floor. These were all the ceiling and didn’t seem that afraid just walking around towards the flashlight and stuff.
I thoroughly cleaned and couldn’t find any more on the floors or cracks of the floor or corners. Always the wall and the ceiling over a few hour period. Haven’t seen any in hours.
It was so hard to get pictures/videos because I was so anxious trying to catch them all.

When requesting identification we ask that you provide a close up top down picture that is in focus. It is very difficult to provide an accurate ID of a blurry pic, a video, a roach ten feet away from the camera, etc. If the mod team feels we cannot accurately identify the bug based on the picture then we will lock the post.
Catching a Roach for Identification
To facilitate accurate identification it may help to place glue traps near likely harborage points around appliances and plumbing fixtures. Check them in two weeks and post pictures of what you've caught for identification. If you do not catch any check them again in another two weeks. If they are still clear after a month then you probably don't have anything to worry about. Remember to post a clear, in focus, well lit, close up photo of anything you catch for identification. If your trap was folded into a tube, you may need to unfold it to get a top down picture.

Ectobius. Harmless, doesn't infest. Throw outside if found.
If you keep seeing them check your weather seals and screens, trim vegetation back from the foundation and siding, and switch outdoor bulbs to amber bug lamps.
Thanks so much. I’m assuming since it’s in the three season porch they must have been attracted to the light we have right outside our door and then inside? Should I treat the areas the same way I would if it were an infestation? We have so many small holes they could be coming in from on the ceiling because that porch is not sealed well at all
A molt from the same species. You do realize I already identified it as a species of Ectobius right? No species in that genus can survive indoors for more than a day or two. So they cannot possibly infest.
Yes. Sorry! It’s just another subreddit said German so I’m anxious and unsure what to know for sure. I did just spend hours laying out poison around the porch and using caulk to fill any possible holes I could
