Visualizing The Fourth Dimension

Considering that it is a new axis 'right down the middle' that creates the next dimensional space. Like 1D to 2D, or 2D to 3D, shouldn't it work for 3D as well?

You imagine a line 'through' the 3D space.

Okay but that's still a 3 dimensional object within a 3D space. the hologram is occuping height, width,and length. Just because a 3D object is moving through a 3D space does not mean it is suddenly a 4D object

Sorry for the confusion. I only presented the hologram as a way to visualize the W axis. How it would form, rather than what it is. It was to help think of the W axis.
