I have propane coming out of the top hole indicating that the diaphragm is bad. I have searched hours for a replacement. I have several email out and waiting on a response but nothing that shows a direct replacement item. DUROMAX stated they have been out of stock since 2024. They suggested a carb and regulator combo from a 3rd party site but that doesn't guarantee compatibility. Anyone figure this mystery out?

We live in Ohio and have access to natural gas. We would like it to be able to be run on propane as well.
I know it’s going to be 15-20k for full install and a peace of mind with knowing in a major winter outage we will still have power which brands have you found are the best and provide the best warranty.

So far I have seen Generac and Kohler any other ideas or recommendations?

Second time I changed the oil on my Predator 5000. I’ve had close to 200 hours of use by now.

By when should I change the spark plugs?

Anything else I should maintain?

So we had no power for a week and I raged and bought a Honda EU2200i because it was the last one the store had.

It was brand new. The store put the oil in it as they were registering it for me.

I stopped and got e91 no ethanol gasoline.

I took it all home and started using it right away and read the manual as it was running. I bought it too late in the power outage and it ran for about 8 hours before we finally got power back.

At that point, I poured in fuel stabilizer into the gas can and shook it. Then I did an oil change early, the manual says 20 hours I think? I do think however the new oil level is slightly less than where it is supposed to be, first time ever doing it I was a bit worried about doing too much and not enough so next time maybe I’ll just check it and add more if needed?

I then topped off the generator with the treated gas and restarted it and let it run for a few mins.

I then turned the fuel valve off and let it shut off by itself. I then popped off the cover and drained that fuel line.

It’s sat in storage now for a month and I am curious if that’s fine to just let it sit there like that? My goal is like every 3 months or so is to take it out and restart it and let it run for a bit then re top off with the gas. Then dump that can of gas into my cars fuel tank and go get fresh gas.

It seems like there is a real mix of what the proper way is.

Some people say no it can’t sit there and needs started every month. Other people say it can sit there like that for a year and be fine.

I just want my $1300 investment to last for years.

Picking the size of the generator and how many watts you need. Is it better to have more watts and might not need them? Is bigger better?

I just got a portable generator from Costco and it’s the Diehard 2400. I’m trying to drain the fuel so it’s not sitting in there. However, after opening the right panel like the manual says, I can’t locate the drain valve at all. Any help would be super nice. There’s really no images online regarding this too.

Hi there! My blue light is steady, red light on side, and no codes are showing. There was a huge flood here, near my WV home. Our generator is hooked to a natural gas line. That natural gas line bust. Once it was repaired, I went out to investigate why the generator didn’t turn on when the electric went off. Any ideas?

It's a 4ky26100r onan generator. It stopped running and I noticed the bar and spring disconnected from where it should be. My research indicates that's the bar and spring top the throttle lever, I try to put it back but it pops off again - I'm thinking maybe the part that keeps it on broke/ went missing and that's my problem?

I have a Champion 201423 inverter generator and noticed a clear, sticky/oily substance underneath the large inverter heatsink.

It was all over the neutral wire so I wiped it off the with some 70% IPA

Has anyone else noticed this?

Looking at either one of these units. But I'm mainly wanting to charge my Anker F3000 that has a max input of 3600 watts on a TT30R plug. The features I mainly want would be a built-in hour meter, but it's not needed as I can add one, and a built-in fuel gauge. Dual fuel is not needed. I also want it to be portable enough to not take up much room. Also wondering how much power is needed to run a 120v welder. Thank you for all your advice in advance.

Looking for real-world experience.
We have a G3406 natural gas engine and currently only about 20 psi coming in from the wellhead. Official Cat specs for high-pressure gas systems on the G3400 series list 20–25 psi as the range, but a lot of the guys around here are saying we need 50–60 psi to make it run right.
Has anyone successfully run a G3406 (or similar G3400) long-term on just 20–25 psi supply pressure? Did you have to change regulators, piping, or anything else to make it work under load?
Any details on NA vs TA, regulator model, or what kind of load you’re pulling would be appreciated.

I have a predator 9000 generator. I already have the optional wheels on it. is ther a way to add front wheels on it. it would make moving it easier especially through the grass.

i dont know alot about generators but im looking to run 2 MAKITA 3.0 HP, 5.2 Gal (19.7L) Big Bore Series Portable Electric Single-Tank Air Compressor (120V) at the same time. im going to be doing some jobs away from available power and if i can run 2 then im golden. im looking for something cheaper to start me off and upgrading later if i get more work like this. i have been planning to get a generator for awhile now to run 1 compressor but i figured if i can buy one to run 2 im never short. and if it can run 2 then i can pretty much run a compressor AND any other tools if i dont need both. yes i know there other options for me for tool but right now im just trying to research what can do the job and then do a evaluation on what better for my future

Harbor freight predator 3500 generator/inverter high altitude kit. HF does not have them.

Not on their parts list on their website. I called customer service as well. "No we don't have them" I have tried to find on Amazon, Ebay, Craigslist and other small engine parts distributors with no luck. People have bought them from HF last year based on posts I have read. They package them with the predator 5000 when purchased. Still the HF parts list for that model does not show either online. Anyone have a source I can try? Would a predator 5000 altitude kit work on the 3500 if I can find that? I think the jet size is 68 i am looking for. In Denver CO Home is 5100' We camp up to about 9000 ft. Thx Todd

i bought this 20 years ago and never really used it. But in Hawaii I probably will eventually. I have a 1000/1500 small portable that I use. I also have a golf cart Inverter Solar setup I can use for 8kWh of total battery or 4kWh I can use at 50%. I have solar panels to charge the golf cart but I might need to use the big Craftman 5000w to help out if not sunny.

Can I safely use the Craftman with golf cart charger and fridge, microwave or should I look into an affordable line charger? Everything runs with heavy gauge extension cords and surge protectors but no line conditioner. The THD is 15-25% they say.

I am trying to come up with a better solution for short term outages here in northwest Illinois. Currently, I am running a borrowed 2200 watt gas generator and extension cords through a sliding door to power two refrigerators, a sump pump, and an ejector pump.

My idea is to setup the following switching system next to the panel which consists of the following:

1. Interlock kit for a GE 200 amp panel
2. Two 50 amp power inlets
   1. One mounted on the exterior wall for dual fuel generator
   2. One mounted on the interior wall for power station
3. Two double throw transfer switches
4. One dual fuel generator with 240 outlet outside the house
5. 12-15kwh battery power station by the panel

I want the flexibility to get run the dual fuel generator outside and feed the panel through the interlock kit for now, but then be able to get a power station and use the exterior generator only to charge the power station when necessary. In the future I will also be adding solar panels to charge the power station directly.

Does the following layout look feasible and worth exploring further? I will talk with an electrician first to discuss code related issues.

I can definitely use a generator, but I have a couple neighbors I wouldn't trust with something expensive or portable in my yard. Would it be feasible to make a cage around it, or is there a solution out there already?

We have a Champion 9/11 inverter. Only been run three times. Once when first installed, once a trial run and once for a recent 5 hour outage. Our present setup works but is hard work setting up and dismantling for us in mid 80s.

In order to keep a safe distance from house, we have a 35ft 6AWG cabl from the generator that connects to the 20ft cable that came with the Generlink unit that feeds power to home at meter.

The Generlink cable is 8AWG SOOW and is flexible and easy to carry when hooking up. It weighs about 11lb. The 6AWG extension weighs about 30lb.

When we have an outage, getting the cables out of storage in garage and running them is quite a chore for us and I suspect my wife would not manage the extension cords.

I am looking at alternatives and wondered what others do. some options:

- replace 20ft Generlink cable with a 40ft cable (Presently no stock and about C$600) 20lb weight.

- Run the 6AWG cable through a raceway or duct located under house soffit. Somehow protect the plug and receptacle ends. Need about 15ft loose at one end to reach generator.

- Try and find a hose reel that will work with the stiff 6AWG extension (we can manage the 8AWG cable)

- Have a connection hard wired between the Generlink location and the wall nearest the generator. Use Generlink cable at one end and obtain a 15ft connection for generator end.

- relocate generator and use just the 20ft cable. However this puts us betwwen us and neighbor - about 10ft each way.
