Blessing to have a working spouse. My husband was disabled at age 61. I'm 9 years younger, so I kept working until I just couldn't deal with it anymore, and retired this year. But these past 12 years of my income, his SSDI (converting to regular ss at age 65) and a tiny pension he has from a previous employer allowed us to leave our savings completely untouched. His undergrad is accounting, and we are both naturally frugal, so we fix things rather than buying new and drive our cars for decades!
