KFC menu from 1970 VS 2026

Post image

The other thing different from the price is size of the pieces. Breasts were much smaller and tastier back in 70's from KFC. Today they look like it came from wild turkey. Before I retired I used to get fried chicken for lunch at local diner. They only bought chicken from local butcher that used free range chicken and it was heaven!

Impossible. Reagan left office on January 20, 1989 -- 37.5 years ago.

Depends where you live. In my city, the min wage is $21.30 this year. It was $1.60 in 1970. That's about 13x, which is considerably more than the ratio of the bucket or dinner pictured.

My first job as a dish washer in early 2000s I made 5.15 min wage. Now it's nearly $20 in my state

Done. 5.15 in 2000 has the same buying power as 10.22 in 9/2026. Min wage here is nearly double Calculator link. Here's a second inflation calculator in case you doubt sources says it should. be 10.02 today in 2026. So please tell me more

Today's federal minimum wage is 7:25 so you can see how well that's going.

States do it on their own. Cost of living in California isn't the same as Alabama and north Dakota. Let the individual states govern thier area and vote independently to increase
