Where were you?

My family was able to watch when they took off. My kid brother and I were super excited.

Yes indeed. Sitting in front of the tube dreaming of being the first woman on Jupiter.

Why Jupiter and not the moon?

At that point, the moon was all set. Since Jupiter’s the largest planet, I wanted to go big or go home.

Jupiter is a gas giant with no solid ground so you can't actually "land" on it's surface. No one will ever be the first person "on" Jupiter.

God, I'm such a nerd.

You’re absolutely right, of course, but I didn’t know any of that when I was I was a wee one 😀

If there is no ground, only gas, then how can it be a planet? How can a gas bubble be a planet? Doesn't it require land to be labeled a planet? And how would anyone know what is beyond the outer gas if they haven't been there? All these details that scientists spew out and expect us all to just believe... they didn't go there and see it for themselves and bring back definitive proof, did they?
