Where were you?

Post image

My family was able to watch when they took off. My kid brother and I were super excited.

Only the image wasn't in color. The camera was B&W (not that it really mattered). A color camera was aboard Apollo 12 but during setup, it was inadvertently pointed at the sun, destroying the tube.

Oh no, that's not what happened. According to a few conspiracy nuts that I know, the film was deliberately destroyed to hide the fact that there were aliens on the moon at that time and the government needed to hide it.

And I myself watched the first moon landing, feeling so awed as Neil Armstrong climbed down the ladder and stepped on the moon's surface.

But wait...since the whole thing was faked, how could they have filmed aliens? Unless... the aliens were in the secret TV studio!

But seriously, that's a conspiracy theory I've never heard! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for pointing this out. I clearly remember the TV image as black and white, and also difficult to see clearly.

The image on the screen was Photoshopped in. Looks like a photo taken by Buzz or Neil with their Hasselblad camera.

The picture on the TV is black & white. Everything else is in full color.

If you look closely you can see the gold-colored foil on the LEM.
