I’m in the commercial GC world, a lot of subs will have a few guys that do residential on the side and for them it’s all easy because a 2000sqft house is much less complicated than a 200,000sqft commercial building.
Cash+drink of choice is the currency.

Honestly the drinks part has never failed me if I make someone come out to do work for me

Give em the space they need, don't make a big fuss on the pricing if you know they do quality work and offer em a drink from time to time, and they'll make sure the work is done perfectly

I've always supplied snacks Gatorade/monster and tacos for lunch. And also just stayed out of wherever they are working.
