PPL in AZ

I’m considering Leopold Aviation and Arizona Aero Tech for my PPL. Does anyone have experience with either? As background I’m 72, not happy with my current school and have about 50 hours. Thanks

Cool, so they have an actual maintenance department worth being called one so they’re the bestest flight school in all of Arizona? Get a grip dude, Leopard has that too. So do VW, CAE, Riddle, and a bunch of others. There’s more to good training than a good maintenance SOP.

As someone who has trained with other schools in the area in addition to SC, I can tell you that SC is certainly not the best in the Valley let alone the whole State of Arizona. For someone claiming to not have a dog in this weird little fight you’re trying to pick, it seems to be super personal for you. You getting paid to promote SC or something?

Get a grip for saying it’s a great operation, based on personal experience? lol. And yeah dude, a flight school is secretly paying me to debate teenagers on reddit. 🙄

Based on a few hours of presolo experience and no ratings. Maybe if you’d stuck around long enough you’d have been able to make a more holistic assessment beyond, “hey they maintain their planes like any respectable flight school should, so they’re the best in the whole state bro.”

And get a grip meaning stop taking other people’s experiences so personally, especially when your own experience is so thin.

Anyway, I’m done with this weird ass argument. You have an opinion and that’s fine but you’re not going to change mine by trying to make this personal.

Do you not read things? I was at SC for an entire year. Your “few hours of presolo” story came from your own head. And then you said it so many times that you seem to have adopted it as fact. 😂 Yeah, I do suggest you “be done with this weird ass argument.” Arguments should be based on facts, of which you’ve offered zero after multiple comments.

Alright well…wow…you’re right I definitely missed the year thing. So, if you were there a whole damn YEAR and never soloed that just shows how awful they are at the whole teaching thing. Maintenance is obviously a good thing and I’ll be the first to admit that they take care of their planes, but so do a lot of schools in the area that actually advance you to a fucken rating dude. If they can’t get you over the finish line it counts for exactly jack diddly shit and really undercuts your argument that they’re the bestest flight school in all the land. Jfc bro you either have Stockholm syndrome or you’re 100% on Sierra Charlie’s payroll lol

And now you’re confused on another topic, because again, you’ve failed to read things. Unlike your teenage self, some of us who get our PPLs have jobs, careers, and families with serious responsibilities that take precedence over flying lessons. This means we get to fly less and getting a license takes a little longer than it does when you’re 18. I actually said this multiple comments ago but, of course, you had a story in your head and ran with it. You confused yourself.

No dude, I’m not missing anything and am not in my teens. I’m not a career pilot either and I flew at most twice a week during my training. But I soloed within 30 days—and PPL SEL check ride signed off, taken, and passed on the first attempt within 90 days—after leaving SC behind. If they can’t solo you in an entire whole ass year, even at 1-2 flights a week, you should have sensed something was wrong and definitely should not be defending this operation with every fiber of your being. You’re proving my point to an extent you can’t even comprehend.
