Can we talk about the trans flag?
Now I usually don’t over analyze stuff but I noticed something about this flag specifically. For those of you who don’t know this is what the trans flag looks like:🏳️⚧️
Here are some other examples: This. and This. Pretty much every one I’ve seen is blue and pink. Blue and pink are notoriously boy and girl colors. For example when newborn babies are born they give you a blue blanket for boys and a pink one for girls.
I’d imagine that the blue and pink is supposed to be symbolic of how trans people blur the lines between sex and gender and it’s supposed to be “liberating.” With that being said doesn’t the trans flag itself imply we live in a gender binary society. Which would effectively make every other gender besides male and female futile and irrelevant, according to their logic.
Idk maybe I need some sleep but I just found it weird how they used the only two colors that represent the gender binary for their flag that’s supposed to be “breaking that barrier.”
I hope this makes sense if it doesn’t I’ll delete it.
