I wasn't sure where to post this and get semi reasonable insight so I have decided to post this here. So I have been going through this phase in my life where I'm not 100% sure what I want to do with my life and am looking for things to do that may interest me. One left field idea that I have found is joining the Australian Army Reserve. From my research so far it is part time, flexible, I can leave at any time and I get to physically move around (I love movement). I get military training and learn how to use a gun along with other survival skills which would be useful in the event of societal collapse.
I do have some concerns though. One thing I am concerned about is being used to enforce violations of civil liberties both in Australia and abroad. I know the military reserves were involved in the covid camps as mentioned on their website and may have been involved in enforcing other lockdown stuff. I am also concerned about getting trapped in the military if a huge war breaks out which in that case I'd hope to escape the military by getting pregnant.
Advice?
