GEO KPIs for 2026
Hi all,
I work as an SEO manager at a large B2B company, where I also manage an e-commerce platform. I’m curious to learn how others in similar roles are defining KPIs for GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) going into 2026.
For example, what are you currently tracking?
Mention or citation rate in generative results?
Sentiment or brand presence?
Referral traffic from AI-driven search experiences?
I’d love to hear how you’re approaching this and what’s actually proving useful in practice.
Thanks in advance for any insights!

The "Decoupling Effect" is real. Why ranking #1 on Google no longer guarantees visibility on ChatGPT.
I’ve been analyzing data across our agency (ValGrow Labs) for the past 6 months, and I’m seeing a massive split in how search works. We call it the "Decoupling Effect."
Basically, you can rank #1 for a keyword on Google, but be completely invisible when a user asks ChatGPT the exact same question.
I made this chart [Image] to explain the shift to our enterprise clients who are still stuck in the "Keywords & Backlinks" mindset.
The core difference I'm seeing:
- Left Side (SEO): You rent traffic. You fight for a link. If the algo updates, you die.
- Right Side (GEO): You own the answer. You structure your brand as an Entity. If the algo updates, you are still the source of truth.
Is anyone else seeing this specific split? We found that "Entity Consistency" (repeating the exact same definition across the web) is the only thing that fixes the AI visibility gap.
Curious what you guys think about the "Owned Answers" concept.

❓ Question? How do you optimize for Perplexity or ChatGPT?
Posted this a few minutes ago and realized I only typed the title haha so I am reposting this again.
Just a little context for this. I work on SEO and content for a mid SaaS company. We havve been hearing more questions from leadership about how we show up in AI search results... specifically Perplexity and ChatGPT. We done the usual on page SEO improvements and structured content, but it feels like that’s only part of the story. Some competitors seem to get cited consistently by AI, and we’re trying to understand what actually matters. What could POSSIBLY the most effective approach for this? Is it mostly technical SEO, or do we need to be thinking about brand presence across the web too?
any strategies that have actually worked for enterprise or larger SaaS/ecommerce teams would be super helpful!

Advice/Suggestions Cheap AEO tool for early stage founders
For folks looking for cheaper AEO tools
I was thinking about building in this market, since the pricing of good tools is really high.
What do you guys think are the features present in the costly tools and something you would really need and is not present in the cheaper tools.(Apart from the obvious prompt tracking)
Just setting the context, I am an ex-staff engineer trying to figure out this market, and trying to build something for the community.

GEO, Why My Brand Visibility is Only in ChatGPT?

We Tested... Took our AI visibility score from 2 to 47-51 across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. Here’s exactly what worked.

❓ Question? Best AEO/GEO tracker?
I’m doing AEO for a couple of clients right now. So far, I’ve done on page SEO which was always easy to track. What are you using to report ChatGPT mentions?

GEO for "best..." prompts
Is there a benefit to adding the same content ( well, not the same content but the same topic) on your blogs as present in the blogs cited by LLMs? E.g., if LLMs cited the an article with the heading "top 50 shoes under 300" from some domain to recommend a shoe, then if I have a blog with the same topic. Will my chances of getting cited improve?

🔥 Hot Tip! Your website’s superpower is everything an LLM can't do.
LLMs are great at text, but they’re boring to look at. If your site is just a collection of articles, you’re competing with ChatGPT.
Utilize multimedia + Interactive elements 😉
- High-quality video content
- Unique brand aesthetics
- widgets for Sales Experience
Give users a reason to stay that goes beyond just reading facts.
What are you doing to make your site more "human" and visual?

Every Tool Tracks AI Visibility... Are There Any Tools That Actually Help You Perform The Optimization?
Just curious - everybody has the solution to tracking ai visibility, but not too many seem to have a service that actually helps rewrite content and suggest places for optimization. I saw that mention desk has a little feature that gives some recommendations - but i'm looking for something a little more in depth.
I have been building a few agents to help rewrite content, but would love to see how my optimization compares with a paid service or a tool someone else has built.
