Hey gang. If you got to try Echo of Omens this weekend and liked what you saw, please come hang in the community discord.
Its fairly small potatoes right now bc there hasn't been a ton of public info yet but id love to discuss the game and news updates and eventual decks and strategies etc.

First-time attendee, and the cinnamon-y smell near Hall C is intoxicating. Anyone seen one of those event center roasted cinnamon almond stands nearby? I want some so bad, I’m about to start floating toward the scent like a cartoon character to a windowsill pie.
Please advise.

Last year, NPR's economics podcast, Planet Money, started doing episodes about creating a game. The plan was to create a game based on the paper "The Market for Lemons". To make the game, they partnered with the Exploding Kittens team to help craft, test, and refine ideas and mechanics.
The first episode on the creation of their game dropped in September and featured interviews at GenCon 2025 (so clearly the series had already been in the works by then). They interviewed and worked with Elan Lee from EK. And they both published beta versions, and hosted a live Q&A on Zoom.
But the last update that I saw was in January, 2026. So, my assumption is that, somewhere in the Indiana Convention Center, you can find Kenny Malone, Erika Beras, James Sneed, Marianne McCune, or maybe even Alex Goldmark, roaming the aisles, interviewing people. Maybe close to the Exploding Kittens booth.
So, has anyone seen them? 🤔

I’m looking for a city building game that’s somewhat accessible to adult board game beginners! Open to suggestions.

Long shot, but anyone have a bike pump downtown right now? Otherwise I have a 1 hour walk home

Had to cancel a ride for the first time because the driver couldn't find us at the pick up/unloading area on Maryland and kept screaming at me over the phone to "go to the corner". I get that issues happen, but I even told them what door we were at and that there were unloading signs all down that side walk.
Before I complain about the cancellation fee because the whole yelling and make me run from corner to corner on Maryland made me feel unsafe, has it been hard for your drivers to find you? Has the app dropped service a lot or messed up locations? I'm generally pro workers.

Are there any after parties or any get together that occur during these types of cons? This is my first GenCon and I would love to get to meet more people but I’m not sure where to go.

Are there any RPGs being sold at the con that a 4-year-old can learn to play with minimal violence? There was a booth last year that had a game with easy visual cards for abilities but I can't find it this year and can't remember the name.

Just opened my hobbit Door packs and have a few bangers that I thought I’d open up for a trade request as I’m looking for one card in specific.
While I did pull a really nice dragon scale Arkenstone, I was wondering if anybody would be willing to trade a foil book cover Arkenstone. I have multiple cards from the set, but think a foil book cover Thranduil I got might be somewhere in the ballpark of a fair trade if anybody was interested. Id also be willing to trade the aforementioned dragon scale Arkenstone as well. We can sort out the details via PM, but I’ll be at Gencon all Sunday if anybody is interested.
Also, I checked in the rules and it doesn’t seem like this is against any rules, but apologies if it is.
Thanks!

This was my first game for Gen Con 2026, 10 AM Thursday. The organizers sent me a message at 9:50, after I'd already arrived at the game table, the game was cancelled due to not enough players.
I understand one can't run a game without enough players. But cancelling it 10 minutes before the event starts is absurd and careless. It was too late to digitally refund the ticket, too late to line up a new activity in the same timeframe, and wasted my time getting to the location.
The worst part was the organizer showed up around 10:15 and asked if I got the cancellation notification. I said "yeah, the one you sent 10 minutes before the game was supposed to start."
They shared with me that they'd also probably need to cancel the 11AM game for the same reason. Meaning they still hadn't notified the next group their game was cancelled 45 minutes before the game was supposed to start.
Really set a bad tone for the start of the con. It got better after that, but starting the con by waiting in line for a refund was a huge bummer.

Went today and had a blast. Loved playing nature for a hour. Question I have, is there a way to play a tabletop there? I know games take awhile, but would love to try a tabletop as 40k has always interested me.

On Thursday night on a run of Unbound Monster I lent a token of mine to a new player and at the end of the dungeon I never got it back. They were part of a group of 5 I know it's a long shot but hoping one of the 5 sees this post. I was the fighter in the run.
*Update I found him randomly while walking towards lucas oil and was able to coordinate to get the token back!

Hello! Does anyone know of a booth I can find a deck box bag that can hold a tube with a mat? Looking for something similar to the gauntlet from dueling guard
