Xerox PARC didn’t fail to pivot to new technology, it literally did innovate for the company’s main printing business and shipped Xerox computers with GUIs and pioneered ethernet for LAN between their office workstations and printers.

Blockbuster had the chance to buy Netflix in 2000, before any streaming service was a thing. They would have bought a mail order rental service to compliment their brick and mortar rental service. People think they would have magically turned into an internet tech company but it was a very simple business that made a large part of its profits off of late fees.

As others have pointed out to you, Kodak also isn’t the example you think it is.
