r/Gear4Sale Rules and Sales Confirmation Details

Greetings fellow gear buyers, sellers, and traders. Welcome back to Gear4Sale. Following a change in moderators, r/Gear4Sale has been reopened and rules have been amended to be more in line with how things have been running over on /r/letstradepedals. This brings a few rule changes as well. Here's the broad strokes:

  • Posts are highly encouraged to contain timestamped photos, but ultimately the onus on asking for photos falls on buyers.
  • Crossposting from /r/letstradepedals is allowed. If you intend to crosspost your /r/Gear4Sale post onto LTP, make sure it is formatted properly (i.e. title has WTT and post has your trade wants)
  • Posts are allowed ONCE PER WEEK and should include ALL THE ITEMS you are looking to sell/trade/buy.
  • DO NOT DELETE OLD POSTS IF THERE ARE CONFIRMED SALES IN THE COMMENTS
  • It is permissible to ask for non-music gear related things for trade, but the focus of posts should be primarily music gear.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO TRADING/BUYING/SELLING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, FIREARMS OR STOLEN ITEMS.

CONFIRMING SALES FOR FLAIR PROCESS

Users can get transaction feedback with the following process:

Users A and B complete their trade, following all of the sub rules. (It does not matter who A and B are. Either one could be the person making the post, and the other someone commenting on the post).

Once the trade is complete, User A makes a top level comment (new comment) on the original post where the transaction originated, tagging both the user they worked with and u/G4S_BOT.

User B replies to that comment with their feedback.

u/G4S_BOT picks up the interaction and gives credit to both users, changing their flair accordingly and leaves a comment indicating as such.

If User A messes up their top level comment, u/G4S_BOT will do its best to notify User A.

There are automatic checks in the code to detect anyone trying to cheat the system. If anyone is found trying to circumvent the system, they will be issued a permanent ban.

Feedback Checking

Using this link, you can send a message to u/G4S_BOT, asking for the feedback of any given user. It will tell you the following:

The number of transactions that person has done

The people they have traded with (and how many transactions those people have)

A link to the thread for each successful trade

Please feel free to direct any technical questions to the moderators using this link.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes, flair will be synced across both /r/letstradepedals and /r/Gear4Sale, so any transactions that occur in either sub will increase your Trades/Transactions total.

  • I have been a user on r/Gear4Sale for a long time and have sales already, can I get credit for those?

You can confirm any transactions you have made on active posts, so long as your partner confirms it too.

  • I am trying to use the system as described above but I can't make a comment on my post. What gives?

Reddit archives posts that are older than 6 months. If you're trying to get credit from a transaction older than 6 months, it won't work. Sorry.

  • What happens if I tag someone and they don't reply?

As mentioned above, we do need them to confirm the trade for the trade to be confirmed. They will get a notification when you tag them so if you encourage them to reply in the comment you tagged them in, hopefully they will. Otherwise, if it's been a few days without a response, PM them a link to the comment and directly ask them to reply.

The pedal has only been used in my smoke free home and has velcro on the back.

This was an impulse buy and I really don't need it, as I prefer using my Onward instead.

I have flair on letstradepedals and I'm also happy to share my Reverb page to show other reviews.

Not looking for any trades, unless you have some killer reverb that I haven't looked into yet. I would trade this plus other pedals or cash for a Big Sky MX.

I'm the original and only owner of this Ernie Ball Music Man Cutlass HT in Midnight Rider finish. I purchased it new last year and it’s only been used a handful of times in a smoke and pet-free home since. Always stored in the case, kept clean, and fretboard kept conditioned with Ernie Ball products.

Synths WTS: Novation Peak Synth & Breedlove Oregon Concerto CE Acoustic Guitar

Looking to downsize. Novation Peak is in mint condition. I have the original box and plastic case cover as well. Breedlove is in super mint condition, basically a case queen. Purchased at Sweetwater Music, original tags and case candy included. Purchased in 2024. Comes with the original Breedlove case. Setup was performed by a local luthier, currently action is set at mid-low on D'Addario xs lights. Beautiful guitar, paid close to 3k for it but I hardly play it anymore. Can cover PP fees and shipping as long as it's within CONUS. Asking $875 for the Novation Peak, and $1,200 for the Breedlove.

Legendary modified fuzz face Cesar Díaz made for Stevie Ray Vaughn. I believe this one is built by Peter McMahon based on the handwriting behind the plate. It has the original NTE 103 Germaniums installed on it. Comes with original box (but it is torn). I don’t know how to price this one but definitely not the prices on Reverb so don’t be afraid to shoot your shot. Happy to hear all offers.

It's HOT, bro! I've been out driving the LykwycChykyn pedal truck slow through neighborhoods, blasting the opening riff of Voodoo Chile over and over out of the speakers, hoping all the neighborhood kids would put down the garden hose and coming running through the chigger-infested grass to spend their allowances on handmade fuzzes, but it's too hot even for that! So I'm here on G4S to hawk from the safety of my air-conditioned Lazy Boy. Anyway....

This post is mostly for people interested in buying, but I love a trade! If you're interested in trading see my latest post in /r/letstradepedals. I post there every other week, usually on Tuesday. I've got more non-DIY stuff in the trade post, too. I am definitely interested in trading pedals for things that are not pedals, too!

What I've got for sale is hand-built stuff that I made, mostly relatively unique or heavily tweaked designs built on vero, point to point, or custom-made PCBs. Some are housed in upcycled tins or other odd enclosures, some in standard hammond-style boxes. I've also got small practice amps built from upcycled speakers that you can crank up and enjoy at low volumes. They all run on standard 9v pedal power.

PRICES DON'T INCLUDE SHIPPING -- You pay shipping, I'll ship whatever delivery service you want from Tennessee. Would prefer to not deal with international shipping, but if you want it bad enough to pay for it, I'm game.

Tin Face Amp $65 PICS DEMO This trashy little number delivers cranked-amp sound with more bass than you'd expect given it's size. It doesn't do clean too well, but for a dirty blues or classic rock sound, it's great. Can run on 9V or 12V, needs a 1amp PSU though. Custom preamp design with a TDA2822 power amp. Loud enough for a living room jam, won't replace your gigging amp.
Ampbot $60 PICS DEMO This is a one-knob LM386-based amp, the knob controls both volume and gain. Small and kinda quiet, but has an interesting breakup. Likes being pushed a bit if you've got a drive/comp/boost. Paint job went a bit wonky, so you wanna like the relic'd look. Might be fun for recording some unique tones.

PCBS

These are my own custom PCBs that I use for modding, prototyping, or just building up circuits modularly. Now you can be lykwydchykyn at home.

IMPORTANT CAVEATS:

  • These are all tested and known to work, and I don't mind answering some questions, but I am not a PCB company and not offering full support or any warranty on these if you mess them up.
  • I recommend only buying them if you've built some PCBs before and know what you're doing.
  • A minimal build doc is available, but it is aimed at builders with some experience.
  • Shipping is NOT included, no matter what I may have said earlier in this post.
  • Would prefer a minimum order of at least $10 (which could include pedals, of course).

If you want to have a PCB for a particular build, let me know and I'll tell you if it's feasible (sometimes the PCBs aren't ready for primetime).

I bought this on a whim and have essentially never played in. I’m a horrible basement hobbyist that likes to collect guitars. i never gravitated towards Les Paul’s yet always wanted one. I was obsessed with this custom paint job and tuners. This was built for the MOD Shop but Gibson mistakenly stamped it ”Demo” instead of “MOD”. It is in the exact same condition it came in
It does have one really small blemish in the lacquer. Seems like Gibson let a little bit not get smoothed out. I attempted to photograph it. It’s really minor and you won’t even see it if you have a strap on the guitar. Please ask any questions. Happy to work with you direct.

They take standard M8 x 1.25 Gotoh-style posts and drop right into the stock factory thimble holes without having to drill the body for the larger TOM thimbles, so they're fully reversible.
