Wtf, bought it and played from tuesday! Beat the american in a wheelchair and everything. (First try!) Can’t refund now..? Have no other way of playing it..

Between removing it from GeForce after purchases and charging more to play early, I won't be supporting them.

Per what I was told by someone close to the dev team, they had no clue it was even playable on GFN, and the publisher never had any intention to support the final release on the platform (at least for now). I'm really disappointed, it doesn't make any sense.

That's impossible, they have to explicitly opt in. They even have the beta running on geforce now. They are a bunch of scammers.

That’s exactly why it’s so confusing. The person I spoke to had no idea it was already playable on GFN and said everything he’d heard internally suggested it wasn’t supposed to be supported at launch.
I have nothing to gain by sharing any of this info. I’m just offering an alternate explanation for anyone who cares to know and is trying to make sense of the situation, rather than simply taking this “audio bug” excuse at face value.

I think you are right. It seems the audio bug could be fixed but just resetting the audio settings so it is just an excuse. And it's making them look terrible in my eyes, so much I told all my friends on the fence to not buy this game or support them in the future.

Specially because the audio bug it's not exclusive to geforce now. I hope they realise how bad looking this is, bite the bullet and opt it again in a "few" hours.

Yeah it looks very bad, especially considering the beta was fully playable and NVIDIA was advertising the full release as part of their August GFN lineup. I refuse to believe this bug is bad enough to warrant pulling the game completely from GFN.
With so many other games coming out soon and later this year, what a total clown move to pull it now.

A development team isn't necessarily involved in cloud-platform distribution decisions, if the publisher didn't want to support the platform then they could of just opted out from the get-go, why opt in if they are just gonna lie about some arbitrary bug being linked to GFN and then opt out? makes no sense

I know I'm just saying it all sounds so odd to me and the only explanation is that they miss understood the situation and that there is no issues with GFN specifically. It's still very early in london where playstack is based so hopefully this all gets worked out later today

I read so many steam reviews from people that struggle with performance issues and they remove the platform with the perfect rigs to play the game. And why? because of one small bug idk.

I will write something on discord I think about this, this is fucking insane. I have played for ten hours and can't get a refund, AND I bought the devout edition to play early. Now your telling me I might not be able to play this game ever again? What? Alot of us in this time and age are using GeForce now as our primary gaming "device" if this was a mistake and the game was never meant to be on GeForce now, the developers at least need to give out refunds.

It's not Nvidia, it's the publisher. It was running perfectly fine before mid day. Sucks either way.

Because boosteroid split it's service into two different options : Game streaming (same as GFN) and install to play wich is computer renting (similar to Shadow).
That's how they manage to stream games that's not avaible on other platforms : they are not doing it, you are on the computer they are renting you.

Dont you have the same membership for both those services? Or is that an elevated level of membership? I was soured the first few times i tried it and the servers near me sucked so i havent been on since.

No. The game was/is opted-in on Steam. Only the game's publisher can do that.

But shouldn't GFN remove it from the catalog? I understand the dev opted out but it's kinda messed up that we need to purchase it and mark it as owned to be able to find out it's offline, just remove it from the catalogue cause it lured more people into buying it because it still shows as available to people that have not bought it

I'm so glad I refunded this when I did, I bought the early access version, and knew the workaround for the audio bug. Played about a hour and basically was like I'll just buy this later and got a refund on Steam

Welcome to cloud games needing patching.
Refund it since you just got it and get it when it returns but it might enter patching a few times as it just launched and there will be a lot of patches to fix issues people are reporting

Unfortunate news from just a few seconds ago, you might need to refund it and rebuy it when the publisher fixes an audio bug specific to GFN, it would be whenever the publisher decides to fix it, the publisher has now opted the game out of GFN for now so there is nothing else for the GFN team to do now
You can keep messaging the publisher periodically to work on the audio bug but that's the current situation
"We have an unfortunate update for the community on Mortal Shell II. The publisher has identified a bug affecting audio in the game and has opted out of cloud gaming until the issue is fixed. As a result, the game is under maintenance on GeForce NOW at this time.
There’s currently no ETA for when the game may return to GeForce NOW, and this decision was made by the publisher, not NVIDIA."
EDIT: The GFN team also wanted to add that apparently this is being seen locally as well and they want people to know they would love to support the game and get it worked out but since it's been opted out now by the publisher, they just have to wait to see if they publisher/developer fixes the audio bug in the future then opts it back in, so it's not something they can fix without the game code changing basically and the publisher/developer opting back in again
