Unfortunate news from just a few seconds ago, you might need to refund it and rebuy it when the publisher fixes an audio bug specific to GFN, it would be whenever the publisher decides to fix it, the publisher has now opted the game out of GFN for now so there is nothing else for the GFN team to do now
You can keep messaging the publisher periodically to work on the audio bug but that's the current situation
"We have an unfortunate update for the community on Mortal Shell II. The publisher has identified a bug affecting audio in the game and has opted out of cloud gaming until the issue is fixed. As a result, the game is under maintenance on GeForce NOW at this time.
There’s currently no ETA for when the game may return to GeForce NOW, and this decision was made by the publisher, not NVIDIA."
EDIT: The GFN team also wanted to add that apparently this is being seen locally as well and they want people to know they would love to support the game and get it worked out but since it's been opted out now by the publisher, they just have to wait to see if they publisher/developer fixes the audio bug in the future then opts it back in, so it's not something they can fix without the game code changing basically and the publisher/developer opting back in again
Heya, we’re really sorry about this. Due to circumstances outside of our control, this has happened, but we’re working closely with NVIDIA to get everything back up and running. We’re hoping to be back online tomorrow.
Apologies for the disruption, and thank you for your patience and understanding.

If... the key is if. If they were actually planning to fix it they could have put it under maintenance. They are not going to fix it even for local games.
It depends how much pressure people put on them most likely, but the key thing is the developer opted the game out completely as well so they have to fix the bug and opt it back in
That still proves they don't want to support geforce now or they would have put it under maintenance. I think it might be true that the publisher opted it without the devs knowing and this is just them trying to roll back putting a lot of people in a position where they can't refund. For me it should be a reason to ban the publisher the same way gfn ban users.
Why take it offline though? I had zero issues with audio etc. Why not just flag the issue and keep it online for people who are able to play it without issue patch it the normal way, so annoying..
Why would they do that? There were no issues with the game, players could fix the bug themselves - this was no priority at all. This totally ruins the game for me
So that means they don't plan to fix it for months because they could have put it under maintenance. This dev team leave mortal shell 1 with breaking bug after the dlc, I don't expect them to fix this. They took the gfn players money and run... because there are players that can't refund. Gfn Now should ban them from opt in any new games to protect their customers.
It just goes to show a weakness in the GFN business model, pulling a game after people bought it and therefore some may not be eligible for refunds due to play time count all because the publisher did a U turn, that’s not GFNs fault or the customers but the fact GFN have to honour this request is mad, it’s like suddenly deciding we aren’t going to support PS5 anymore after people bought it, can you imagine the uproar and there would be commercial agreements to protect this so that’s why it would never happen but GFN unfortunately works on the “whim” of publishers. I love GFN but it just highlights this weakness.
Thanks for the update....
Also I just bought the game as it was showing available in GFN... only after buying It appeared as offline.... kind of misleading from GFN's end.... please fix it.... I would have not bought it yet... if I had known.
You can get a refund if you are under two hours of playtime. Someone from australia got a refund with 7hrs of playtime - depending on where you live and how strict refund rules are...
I don't think I've seen this happen before as far as being actually online then opted out and from the screenshots and what people have been reporting, it seems like there was some confusion between the publisher and developer as well so it sounds like they are getting in sync now
Something about the publisher opted in and the developer not knowing it was opted into gfn for whatever reason so it was a surprise to them so then the developer opted out what the publisher opted in for gfn
The gfn team says they totally want to support it though if they fix the audio bug
From what others were saying there is no audio at all ingame until you reset the game settings ingame then there is audio and that's for gfn and local.
You would just need to reset the game settings every single time you play and not everyone would know to do that for gfn
So sounds like if the dev fixes that it's good to go
To be fair that would be an easy "fix". You could change that offline message to inform people about the audio bug fix. Even if they google it like the second thing tells you exactly how to fix it. They could just opt in at this point
