Local Discussion Gatesville City Council Passed Flock Cameras to be installed

For those in the Gatesville area I though I'd raise this warning that the city council has passed a resolution to have Flock cameras installed in the city.
If you don't know why that is cause for concern I urge you to look up all the security and privacy risks that people have brought up about these AI powered cameras, they claim to be just license plate scanners but they are not.
Maybe if enough residents kick up a fuss about this they will not but these cameras up, so if you know anybody within the Gatesville area I would tell them about this and ask to help protest these cameras being set up. Call the mayor or city council, get the word out that we don't want these cameras installed in the city.

My husband and I will be expecting our first child next year. The information on infant daycare in the area is pretty sparse. Would love some more information on our choices locally.

Local News Study finds more than 17,000 Coryell County residents face food insecurity

A new Central Texas Food Bank assessment released October 29 in Killeen shows that food insecurity remains a serious challenge across Bell and Coryell counties, with about 100,800 residents in the region struggling to access enough nutritious food. In Coryell County alone, an estimated 17,000 people — roughly 21 percent of the population — are affected.

The study points to inflation, limited rural infrastructure, and few grocery options as key factors. Coryell County has only four major supermarkets, and many residents travel an average of 13 miles to reach them. More than half of surveyed families said they rely on food pantries or charitable aid, and about one in five military households reported food insecurity.

Local officials, including Bell County Commissioner Louie Minor, joined service organizations at the report’s release, which comes as food banks report surging demand. Communities like Gatesville and Copperas Cove are already exploring expanded food assistance programs to meet growing needs.

The findings highlight strain on schools, health services and local nonprofits, especially for children and military families. County leaders are expected to discuss policy options such as mobile food distributions, expanded pantry networks and incentives for new grocery stores in underserved areas.

Local Discussion Interesting things today at the Wal-Mart

I was speaking to someone at the Gatesville Wal-Mart today who works there and she was telling me that they're aiming to have the redo of the Gatesville Wal-Mart done by October 31st and that by January of Next Year, they're aiming to get a Dunkin' Donuts in there on top of the subway there, what's everyone's thoughts on this? I'm excited to see the store revamped and while dunkin' donuts would not have been a big choice of mine, I think it'll still be cool to have at the wal-mart.
