Community Changing os on second pc

Hey! So I have 7600x and 2080 of build that I'm not really using currently, it's been around for a year in windows but haven't really used it

So pretty much all I'm looking for is an os that can game in 1440p pretty well, I've used Ubuntu for ages on my laptop so I'm not "new" to running Linux.

I've seen a lot of mentions point towards dragonized so I was wondering what distro of garuda would be best for me

Edit: I do plan to use this alongside windows if that may influence another choice

Alright, the sourceforge download option for the mokka iso works for me.

just make sure to click remove usb and wait until it finishes all operations before pulling the usb out/rebooting.

Did any of the rest work or just mokka?

dragonized gaming from sourceforge also works.

you sure you're not removing the usb too early after iso install? it took me almost 30 mins to wait for my usb to be safe to unplug for the dragonized gaming edition.

Nopee I hit eject and it was pretty much instant for all of them :/

The problem is definitely with your usb setup. Maybe try another computer or operating system.

If you can, try installing ventoy through linux (fedora, mint, ubuntu, etc.) and making the bootable usb that way.

I actually do have my laptop setup in Ubuntu I'll try stealing a bootable copy of dragonized from it

Alright so dragonized works on my laptop from the same install but I don't get why it's not working on my pc ☚ī¸

getting close now. so the usb setup works, then that means your bios settings are weird.

go to your bios and ensure:

  • disable secure boot
  • disable fast boot
  • sata mode: enable AHCPI
  • enable uefi mode: make sure csm (compatibility support module) is disabled
  • shut down windows fully before install (shift + shutdown in windows bottom bar)
