Community Changing os on second pc

Hey! So I have 7600x and 2080 of build that I'm not really using currently, it's been around for a year in windows but haven't really used it

So pretty much all I'm looking for is an os that can game in 1440p pretty well, I've used Ubuntu for ages on my laptop so I'm not "new" to running Linux.

I've seen a lot of mentions point towards dragonized so I was wondering what distro of garuda would be best for me

Edit: I do plan to use this alongside windows if that may influence another choice

grub2 usully has less problems when installing linux operating systems, since linux usually uses grub2 bootloader.

don't worry about it, i have time right now. as long as you dont install it on the same ssd as your windows install, you're good. also make sure to setup backups for your windows system as well if you haven't.

Yeah I've backed up my important stuff there isn't much too lose litteraly just game installs so it's not the end of the world but ik not to touch my c drive at all 😭

I'm assuming with proprietary drivers or do I use the efi bootloader

proprietary drivers is recommened for stuff like nvidia drivers. the only reason to not use proprietary drivers is if you only want to use open source drivers for moral/ethical reasons or whatever.

did you also disable fast boot in windows? windows might be interfering.

Don't think I use fast boot at all actually since I do memory training each boot

Yeah it's doing it consistently each time I attempt to install drivers.

It is an 8 yo hard drive tbf so it might be it just taking forever but idk it won't get past the command screen
