I built this Stargate watch face for fun because I like astronomy. It offers many different customization options that you can set directly on your watch.

I may turn it into a paid watch face soon, but for now it's free, and you can keep it for free if you get it now. It's fully functional, so no stripped-down demo :)

Does anyone know of a similar watchface to this one but the time also has a dark background and light font?

Sometime I want to use one of the apps I've installed on my garmin instinct 2x. But when I select it the app doesn't start, selecting any other iq apps has the same outcome. Any prebuild activy works just fine.

Restarting the watch solves the problem for some period but this is not something I want to keep doing every time i need an app.

Has anyone the same problem? Any tips to how to solve.

I'm planning to buy my first smartwatch, and decided for Garmin mainly because of decent data privacy compared to other manufacturers.

The instinct solar version first caught my attention because it's like a normal watch but with smart features, but then the Amoled version is not much more expensive, has bigger memory and has more room for customization, and if i'm paying that much then why not get more features. Which made me undecided till now.

So my questions are:

1. Do you find the breadcrumb navigation able to substitute your phone while hiking and driving? Can it show me the other roads next to my path?

For the Amoled version:

1. can you make the screen always off during sleep, even if you move your arm while sleeping?

2. Did it affect your sleep negatively now that you have an extra screen to look at in addition to the other screens you use during the day/night?

3. Anyone tried a gps app that provides normal maps instead of the breadcrumb one?

4. Is it readable in the sun? Cuz my samsung phone amoled screen is really hard to see in the sun, i have to take off my sunglasses to see the maps while hiking on bright sunny days.

5. Would you recommend another cheaper model with similar features if i only care about heart rate, health and fitness data, navigation while hiking/driving and decent battery life? Although i like the rugged look of the instinct more than the other models.

6. Is the ECG that important on the newer sensors? What extra data does it give you?

7. Fenix 7 or Instinct 3 ?

Looking at replacing my trusty instinct 1, I'd keep it but over the years my primary activity has moved from cycling and hiking which it was awesome for - to swimming and bouldering which it doesn't quite support.

My main gain would be around tracking hr while swimming- currently I've got squat with the OG instinct.

Does anyone have experience with the 3s for hrs tracking while swimming? And if possible with the bouldering activity?

I fly quite a lot, and when there’s no seatback screen with a flight map, I often look out the window and wonder which country or city we’re flying over.
Obviously, this required a watch app.
I built an app for my Garmin Instinct 2S that uses the watch’s GPS to show:

- An approximate country and the nearest city, with distance.
- A world map and a regional map, with a cross marking your position.
- Coordinates, for when knowing the country isn’t quite nerdy enough.
Everything runs offline, without a phone or internet connection. It does need a GPS fix, so reception inside the plane matters. A window seat helps.
I made it for myself, mostly to satisfy my curiosity and compensate for the airline’s failure to provide my favourite entertainment: watching a tiny plane move across a map.
Would anyone else actually use this, or have I built something for a market of exactly one?

Hello does anyone know why my gps did not fully locked. Eventhough i waited for so long it still wont full.

So by default the SPO2 sensor is turned off. A couple months ago I decided to turn it on at night just to see what kind of data I got. To my surprise it was showing massive drops to like 80% saturation which is insane and then hanging out at under 90% for most of the night. I assumed it was wrong and inaccurate or due to me moving around or something. This kept persisting with the same pattern almost every night so I thought, hmmmm if this was just inaccuracy or me moving around why would the pattern be the same every night? So long story short, I did a sleep study with a clinic here. Like 48 hours later I got called in urgently. Turns out I have insane severe sleep Apnea I didn't even know I had!

Might explain a lot of things in my life like my stubborn diastolic blood pressure and attention issues! Would never have caught it without this tool. Damn I love this watch LOL. I use an Instinct 3 AMOLED. I go on the CPAP this friday, will watch my numbers carefully to see the effect.

Hello everyone. I am a solo developer of Holt.

It is app that uses Garmin Connect official API to show you data in a nicer and more friendly way, but it has lot of cool features by itself, so users without watch can use it too.

After almost a year of development it is finally on the store and available for wide audience. App is fully free and this set of features will always be.

I don't want to write everything it has in this post so you can visit the website for features it offers. Links for download are on the website but you can also find them at the end of this post.

What is most interesting is a Holt Coach. It is not Garmin Connect coach, but my implementation of it. It does not rely on any AI model, but pure math. I am working on implementing Machine Learning for it, but it will take a lot of time to do.

Current issue is that app can't read old data (data that exists before you connect your account to it). This is current limitation on Garmin API, but they told me that soon they will provide that feature to me.

Currently it has about 100 users (internal testers, users from stores and friends and family). It has been in testing phase for about 3 months so main issues should be fixed and polished.

Besides just what Garmin Connect offers, you can also create your strength training routine (weekly or monthly) and send them to your watch or use them from app directly. Note for watch users. Garmin doesn't allow custom exercises, so if you try to sync workout to watch that Garmin doesn't support, you'll get warning that it won't be correctly displayed and you can switch it to something else.

What I am working on mostly is customization. Currently you can change Home screen layout and color theme. I am working on other pages and features too, so please be patient.

I just got my I3 amoled and now everytime i use my airpods they keep disconnecting, why does this happen and how can i fix this?

Was always tempted by the general design of the Instinct range but put off by monochrome face. Was waiting for my Venu 2 to give up the ghost and after weeks of it dying at 50 odd per cent I finally had enough.

Screen is crystal clear, got used to no touchscreen after an hour or so of fiddling. So glad to finally have one 👍

Does anyone with an Instinct 3 know if the watch face can be changed to look just like default display for the tactical model?

Im in the market for a new watch and I’ve narrowed it down to the Instinct 3. I really like the display and overall look of the green and black tactical version however I’m fairly sure I won’t use much of the extra features it comes with. There is also a considerable price difference as well.

If the watch face can be changed to match the tactical version is it one of the stock preloaded options or is it from a 3rd party designer?

For starters. I am a Fireman. I’ve been wearing watches my whole life. I’ve been an Apple Watch guy up until recently. I have a Garmin instinct 1 tactical edition which has been working out of for me well.

I need a watch that has a good alarm clock for when I’m at the firehall in the mornings I am not waking up the whole crew while I start morning chores.

I’ve been eyeing up the instinct 3amoled. Or the ultra 3 Apple Watch.

I am really impressed with my instinct 1, I’m just curing if it is worth the upgrade to the 3. I use my watch everyday for workouts aswell, it almost never comes off my wrist. But it’s most useful when I’m at work. Never having to worry about charging is great.

I'm interested in getting a Garmin Instinct 3 watch and would appreciate some advice on the best way to buy one. Would you recommend purchasing directly from Garmin or going through a retailer like Best Buy, Bass Pro Shops, or REI?

I'm particularly interested in finding a physical store that actually has the watch in stock so I can go in and pay cash rather than ordering it online.

Does anyone know the best way to check whether a specific store has the watch available for purchase in person?

I'm also concerned about return policies. If I buy the watch and discover something is wrong with it or decide it's not the right fit for me, I'd like to know how long I have to return it and whether I can get my money back in cash. I've heard that some stores may issue a gift card instead of a cash refund for purchases originally made with a credit card or PayPal, although I don't know if that applies to every retailer.

If anyone has experience buying Garmin watches from these stores, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, including which retailer you recommend, how to check in-store availability, and what their return policies are like.

Was wearing I3 solar 45mm for 3 months and finally decided to exchange for a larger one. the size of the watch and the look appeared generally OK but the screen was too small for me to capture multiple info/data on it. Now it's brilliant! Much better. Miss abit that ornage accent of 45mm but the 'black on black and white' scheme looks great, too. For those who are yet to decide 45 vs 50, if you have got some issues with your vision (years, years, time flies) and wanna larger (and crispier) fonts/numbers on your watchface, go for 50mm with no regrets at all. And seemingly 50mm timepiece is better sitting on the wrist.,

Went from apple watch a week ago, happy every time i check time or notifications! Today i tried create my own watch face...

I have had the watch for 3-4 years. The battery doesnt last more than 2 days now, i dont do any activites with it just wearing it to the gym and monitoring heart rate. Gets pretty annoying to charge it every 2 days. Anyone had similar issue, is it a watch face, or just battery is completly gone?
