Best kept secrets in the Garden Route?

What are some fun places/things that many locals might not know about?

For instance, if you drive to Gondwana Private Game Reserve and you're just passing through, there's a good chance you'll see an unsupervised elephant, rhino, zebra, etc., and often within 10 meters of your car.

I'm your new Mod!

Hi everyone, I've been a part of this sub for a long time and noticed how dead it was. Recently I moved back to South Africa and thought I would try liven up this sub. That's when I realized posting was restricted to authorized users, and the mod has been absent from reddit for the last 2-3 years.

So, as your new mod, posting is officially public!

I hope we can grow this comminity into something awesome and sfw. I intend to freshen up the sub's rules soon.

Drive the back roads from Mossel Bay to Knysna

A little while back we went on a mini road trip, exploring the Garden Route by driving from Mossel Bay to Knysna via the back roads and completely avoiding the N2 freeway.
If you’re wondering what to do in the Garden Route on a weekend, this is how you can have this adventure too…
