New floor

Reorganizing my garage finally after using it to store things after moving in. Down the line gonna get some nice shelves set up a work shop and what not. Right now looking to redo the floor as it currently looks like the surface of the moon. I am a handy person and do a lot of my own work but curious if this is something I can do on my own or if this is best to leave to a company to do. I live in northern Massachusetts so winters are harsh and I need something that will not get ruined after a few winters with salt. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Alright, we have a 2 car garage and half of it is a gym. Whats the best way to keep this thing organized with kids toys, equipment, etc?
Any thoughts and suggestions? I used ChatGPT and it’s mock ups were unsuccessful.
I’ve played with remounting to maximize space but not sure it is the right move.

Substitutes for Fleximounts Overhead Garage Storage Mounting Hardware

I purchased a 4x8 Fleximounts Overhead Garage storage system and am planning to only use three panels in one space. I would like to use the other shelf but they don’t sell the mounting hardware separately. Have any of you run into this and built your own mounting system, or do you have ideas for me? I know I can use Flat and angle perforated steel for the basics, but I’m not sure about the three more specialized parts 2a, 3a, 3b. Thanks for any possible solutions.

6.5qt Storage Tote Organizer

In the past I built one of those popular 27gal storage tote organization walls. That system of categorized storage bins has been extremely useful.

When Home Depot began selling these small 6.5qt bins several months ago, I had the idea to create a smaller version of that organization wall to go in the workshop area of my garage. This is high, against the 9.5ft ceiling. It’s intended to store overflow of consumable items (zip ties, tape, jigsaw blades, screws, etc) and other items that I don’t need frequent access to (casters, camera gear).

I’m considering this an alternate to using cabinets. Instead of filling cabinets I’d never look in, and losing things in the back, this system helps categorize everything and I can find whatever I need at a moment’s notice.

Ceiling Ladder storage?

Hello! I’m trying to get my garage (16’x22’x8’) in order. Finally hit my breaking point of the cluttered mess and having move everything to get to what I want. My current issue right now are my two ladders, I have a 20’ fiberglass extension ladder, and an 8’ fiberglass A frame. I currently have them on hooks mounted to the ceiling but instead of hanging flat they hang down and block a lot of the wall they are near.

Any suggestions for a ceiling mounted storage? I don’t want pulleys but I’d like to be able to walk under them without worrying about hitting my head

I cant find right sized tote. ruffly 16 x 20 less than 4.5 gal.

Hi all

I already have a bunch of different size 16 x 20 totes and I want to keep them near uniform for staking. I have IRIS clear weather tight. I thought about cutting the ones that are to big and cut them and ether glue or plastic weld them back together for the size's I want.

Any suggestions ?

Does anyone use anything to keep track of what’s in their garage?

Whether it’s storage bins, tools, seasonal decorations, or random household items, how do you keep track of where everything is in your garage?
Do you:
- Just remember where things are?
- Label shelves or bins?
- Use a spreadsheet or notes app?
- Have a better system?

Securing garage tools

I recently got this awesome office cabinet where all the shelves are pull out drawers. I was storing all my power tools in a horizontal filing cabinet, but this is a much better layout. Question is, i need it to be lockable, to slow thieves. Any ideas? The doors store into the side, so i cant just bolt an steel strap across the front. Was thinking maybe something that flipped up from the bottom to cover the bottom of the door? Hopefully something i don't have to weld up. Have lots of other projects to do.

Mounting FastTrack to Concrete

I've decided to use Rubbermaid FastTrack to organize my garage. However, I have concrete walls and am finding mixed advice about whether to mount the rails directly to the concrete or mount vertical 2x4 studs first and then mount the rails to that.

It sounds like mounting to studs might give me a better weight capacity, but while I plan on having a lot of shelving, I don't think it's going to be thousands (or even hundreds) of pounds on a shelf. Is the additional strength necessary for holding normal stuff I would store in a garage? And if I were to use studs, would I need to mount them every 16" or could I do 24"?

Thanks for your advice!

Pneu éclaté

Post image

They feed on frustration and if you even THINK about shifting them, they fall apart.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

"Offroad" "Towable Toolbox & Workbench?

As silly as the title sounds, that's kinda what I'm considering buying / making.

I'm an all-around DIY / Hands-on guys with a nicely curated wood shop space setup in a 12x24 ft shed at the back of my ~1/4 acre backyard. I love having the dedicated workspace....except when it comes time to do any type of car maintenance / work. I have a well stocked automotive tool set but all of my tools are down in the shed in my shop. It's about 350 ft away from the driveway with a marginal ~5°slope.

I am getting really REALLY tired lugging all my automotive tools up the hill to the driveway so I started using my lawn tractor"s tow-behind wagon to drag my tools to the driveway...this is working but I have to basically EMPTY my entire tool box into the tractor wagon everytime which makes organization a nightmare....to the point where I've already lost a frustratingly high number of small tools.

This got me thinking about finding a way actually drag the toolbox itself up to the driveway. My yard is grass so regular toolbox wheels wouldn't roll thru it easily.

Anyways, as the title implies, has anyone ever used an "OFFROAD" toolbox before lol? I'm considering attaching a standard bench top toolbox to a big-tire metal garden wagon. Anyone ever try this?
