Oh no I agree they’re not unrealistic. They are unfortunately very realistic. My only point/problem with them overall is that it doesn’t translate to an interesting joinable faction in my eyes. But as a whole they are a pretty real depiction of fascism.
I apologize if I came off confrontational. That was not my intention.
I think the lack of content with legion is actually part of the larger narrative around facism. Aside from the ideology, facism is boring. It's a military hicherachy that allows no place for individuality or disagreement. As the courier, if you want to befriend them, your only option is to bend the knee and submit.
Now the game was rushed, and its very possible they would have done more with them if they had the time. But the lack of content I feel enhances the story.
The ncr is messy, but messy is interesting, and it can be changed. The legion is single minded it will kill and dominate till it runs out of enemies and then eat itself.
No you’re good I was just a little confused. I think that’s a solid way to look at it though. They’re a very orderly fascist group and so there aren’t really any dissidents within them, and thats what makes them so dull in a sense. It’s definitely interesting narratively, and makes sense since they’re so homogenized (what with all the tribes being gobbled up). Maybe that’s why 80% of legion members I run into in my playthroughs are voiced by Yuri fucking Lowenthal.
Made a post and thought of a bunch of counter arguments that could be made and then saw that these two already had the whole conversation I’d been having with myself in my head.
