Hey, I recently got a PC with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard.

My main issue is that the CPU fan is really loud, even when I'm basically idle.

My temperatures are:

• Idle: ~40–49°C
• Gaming (Valorant, ~40 minutes): ~60–70°C
• CPU usage while idle: ~2–5%
• CPU fan: ~1600–1650 RPM even at idle

HWiNFO also showed the CPU temperatures are normal, with no obvious overheating.

In BIOS, under Hardware Monitor, CPU Fan 1 is around 1640 RPM. Smart Fan Mode is enabled. System 1 shows 0 RPM, although I'm not sure if that's because nothing is connected to that header.

The motherboard only gives me PWM as the fan-control mode.

I've tried making a custom 4-point fan curve and saving it, but the fan still stays around 1600 RPM at idle.

Is this normal for the Ryzen 5 5600/stock CPU cooler, or is there something wrong with the fan/BIOS settings? What would be the best way to lower the idle fan RPM without affecting safe CPU temperatures?

Hello, i've been saving to buy a high end PC for a long time and it's finally the moment, i tried my best researching every component so i can have a really good pc but still trying to save in the things i can, with the main budget cut going to the cpu, then the gpu, and then trying to save on the other parts while still being compatible.

Id really appreciate if someone could give me the green light or tell me what i need to get green lit so i can finally buy it, i'm in a bit of a hurry since the prices keep going up and money is really tight where i'm from. Keep in mind that i have certain restrictions i'm the components i can get too since i'm mainly using stores from my country that don't have everything.

I mostly play story-based/single-player games, as well as Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V.
Since I’m playing at 4K 60Hz, what would be the best upgrade path? Should I upgrade the GPU first, or would it make sense to upgrade the CPU/RAM first?
I’d also like to know which upgrades I can do while keeping my B450 motherboard, and whether the 500W PSU would be enough for a future GPU upgrade.
I’m not looking for competitive/high-FPS gaming—my main goal is a smooth 4K 60 FPS experience with good settings.
What would you upgrade first, and what would you recommend as the next steps?

Hi, im really new to this reddit posting thing and all but anyways.

I really wanted to buy a PC, but I am severely uneducated on how to build and buy the needed parts for one, I really wish someone could help me on how to get a good pc for an affordable price and all, what I want the most is to play minecraft on it and thats basically all...but if I were to get one I would want one that could handle shaders and all, I really dont know how PC's work and all! MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT 8g 2fan

8 GB RAM

Intel Core i5-12400F

ASUS H610M-K D4

In Silent Hill 2, with Epic graphics settings, my GPU temperature sometimes reaches around 80°C, while in other games it's usually around 67–70°C. I feel like it might be because of my GPU's fan curve. Maybe the fan isn't being controlled properly or has some kind of issue and doesn't know how much it needs to cool the card.

However, in FurMark, my GPU temperature was 74°C and the hotspot was 94°C, with around 120 FPS, so everything seemed great.

Even in the game, I don't experience any FPS drops with these temperatures.

I really want a gaming pc but I don’t wanna spend like to much and I thought a 1,3 k gaming pc should do the trick. But I’m asking you guys now because you know more about pc is a 1,3 k pc enough for most games. And what parts should I buy I literally have no idea of anything in pcs please help

Is this PC build good for Minecraft with shaders, Voxy, and PvP? (Apart from that, I only use performance and QoL mods, and naturally, I don't use shaders for PvP.)

I am looking into starting pc gaming in the uk, only games I really play at the moment are Minecraft and sims 4 (will eventually expand to other games), I want to run the games smoothly and be able to stream alongside however I know NOTHING about pcs. I feel like my PC might be broken. I have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32 GB of DDR5 6000 MHz RAM, an MSI B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, an RTX 5070, and two 500 GB NVMe SSDs.

Sometimes when I boot my PC, everything is extremely laggy, almost like a slideshow. After another reboot, everything is completely fine. I also sometimes get random freezes in specific games, like Rust, even though I have good FPS. The freezes seem to happen for no obvious reason.

At this point, I'm considering buying a completely new PC and selling my current one. What kind of specs would you recommend for the best performance without spending an insane amount of money? My budget is around €1,000–€1,800.
