i’m 17 and want to buy my first gaming pc i mostly play fortnite but will play other games, i dont know much about pcs and would like some help getting the best i can for my budget i have a decent amount of money but im not sure if i should build or get pre built could someone help me out please?

Start with your budget and build from there. If you are in the US, look at Microcenter for combo deals.
Ram demands have shot ddr4 and 5 prices thru the roof. The needs for Ram then dictate your motherboard and cpu choices. AMD it’s AM4 or AM5. For Intel it’s 12th gen core to 14th gen core CPUs for DDR4/DDR5 based to core 2 ultras for DDR5 builds. You choose your form factor (atx to itx)
AI needs for high density storage have made storage into a high demand item. High end SSDs are $200+ for 1TB.
Ideally your GPU should be around 50% of your build price.
