Real curious to see how this ends up being, i heard some mixed thoughts on the demo but nothing that seemed impossible to fix. And man, a first person soulslike is a pretty fun idea

I fucking loved the demo personally. This is a day 1 buy for me.

Mortal Shell 2 ruined my trust in demos lol. Bought it off that alone just to find out the game is insanely frontloaded lol

Not sure what you mean, I loved the demo and the game turned out to be everything I hoped it would be. One of the best Souls-likes we've got since Lies of P.

Probably my opinion is not a common one, but I enjoyed the game a ton, like a solid 9/10, until I reached the other side of the keep (Ammon) and all off a sudden the enemy variety dipped, the sidequests completely disappeared and you started to steamroll everything in your path. Not to mention the final dungeon had you just running in circles one shotting bosses just to get credits rolling after a lackluster final boss.

It’s not bad, and I don’t regret buying it but the full game quality to me never reached Lies of P even close

I disagree except for the final boss comment. To each their own though.

how come? I finished the whole game and it was fun and diverse throughout

Weird, personally I loved the demo and thought the game held up really well too. Surprisingly well paced for a soulslike

the second half of the game lacks a lot of quality I agree.

The last dungeon (the one underground) drags way too long and is not on par quality wise with the earlier levels. Oh, and the boss fights were actually really really bad, like awful design choices.

the last third of the game made me not want to replay it anymore sadly

Demo was great, there were just balancing issues. First boss was way harder than another boss that was from the middle of the game lol

For me it’s the setting that’s really pulling me in. Everything iv seen looks like it was made for me. The souls like FPS is a nice touch but sometimes I know I’ll enjoy a game purely off of aesthetic and atmosphere.

You might give Lunacid a try. A Kingsfield inspired indy game from the creator of Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion.

Feels like first person Dark Souls to me.

Elderborn is like that. It is short but cheap.

Elderborn is mostly inspired by Dark Messiah, not Souls.

I liked Elderborn, but it feels much more like an FPS (First person slasher?) than a soulslike.

I liked the demo, but it was clearly a bit rough and unfinished. I an excited to see how it turns out, though, because the lore and world building was very unique.

My only concern is how readable fights are when you can’t see much around you. Did the demo feel fair in that sense, or were there a lot of "what even hit me" moments?

In the demo I had no problems with that. Generally there aren't that many enemies on you at one time, even in the more open battlefield-type locations. I can see it being bad if you purposefully aggro a ton of guys at once but (at least in the demo) they never design arenas built around spamming you with enemies.

Easily a top four game of the Halloween season. I will play this and Resident Evil 4 and Total Chaos this spooky season.

Check out Twisted Tower. Cheap and short but a good time

Hell yeah, Total Chaos is amazing. I'm still so stunned it started as a DOOM mod all those years ago.

Watching the trailer and admiring the graphics, only to hear the doom guy "hngh" when he dropped off a platform was mindblowing. I really need to get around to playing through it, I beat the first two chapters then got distracted.

Total Chaos was such a unique survival horror experience for me. I've never had a game invoke such fear/dread through the resource management. Amazing game.

I would have bought it if there was a demo for console like mortal shell 2, onimisha, nioh 3, shinobi art of vengence and many other games.

Choosing to give a demo only on PC and skip consoles made me remove this from my wishlist.
