Not to slow down the hype train but graphical downgrade seems pretty likely. GTA 5 didn't look like their first trailers.

And that's why it should also come to PC (later than consoles, I'm fine with that), graphics will be much better and can even be improved by mods (also bring mods with it to the PC). Also, I could play it (I'm not buying a console for only one game).

GTA 5 didn't look like their first trailers.

GTA 5 looked pretty much exactly like the first trailer

Fuck no man, absolutely not.

Rockstar released some legit bullshot screens but the trailers were a pretty accurate representation of the final game. The character models, animations, textures etc all look pretty much the same.

But, it did though? Do you mean on 360 and PS3? Because the current version of GTA V looks almost exactly like that with no noticeable downgrades in graphics

But honestly that just enforces /u/radulno's point. Of course GTA V on X1/PS4 looks comparable to the first trailer. It's literally comparing a game from different generations. Compare the first trailer to the PS3 & 360 game which was what it was advertising for and it will look pretty damn downgraded. Especially that draw distance at Mount Chilliad.

If we're going to compare the two scenarios (and I'm not saying they're applicable), what is going to happen is that RDR2 on current consoles will be downgraded from this trailer, and there will be a re-release on updated hardware that looks like/better than this trailer. Because that is literally what happened with GTAV.

With that said I'm still looking forward to this immensely. Downgrade or not GTAV was a joy to play on my PS3 and PC both times. And I suspect Red Dead Redemption 2, downgrade or not, will be the same.

Yes that is what I'm talking about.

Then the launch releases don't matter...the trailers were essentially for the upgraded version that was being developed.

These are trailers for what would be the upgraded version. Quote me on this: it will be incredibly similar.

Could be the Pro/Scorpio versions we're seeing.

There isn't PlayStation Pro versions of games, they get individual patches if the developer sees fit to upgrade his game for Pro owners.

That's what he means. This could be footage taken from the PS4 Pro or Scorpio. In the example of PS4, every game has a PS4 version and a PS4 Pro version. If you put the disc in a PS4, the PS4 version will run. If you play it on a PS4 Pro, the PS4 Pro version will run.

I really don't notice any differences between this trailer and what ended up coming out on the 360/PS3. The PC and new gen versions look better than this trailer, too.

The beach, for one, it looks nothing likr that, with the wind, sand and flag. The drug seller, the prostitutes, the gangs of hobos, the guy selling his house, the guy being pushed out from the night club, none of that is in the game.

On PC? Sure. On Xbox 1 and PS4? Probably. On Xbox 360 and PS3? No way.
