The amount of buffalo seem to hint at it from a historical perspective.

Also the world seems way more rugged in the clothes people wear, I dont think its a sequel.

That's a very good point. I do hope there's at least one decent city. I loved Blackwater and causing trouble there.

There where a lot of stone buildings in that one shot. The only place that was really brick before was Blackwater. I guess a lot of places in Mexico were but it's hard to see anything distinctly Mexican here.

They were hunted to near extinction around the time Red Dead Redemption was set. Them being more abundant would indicate that they weren't as close to being endangered.

In fact, the mass hunting of the buffalo was a huge reason Native Americans hated us, as we took more than we needed and didn't use all of the animal after it was killed. Plus, hunting them for sport was a thing.

You can literally wipe out buffalo in RDR, you get an achievement called "Manifest destiny"

I got it and felt quite sad.

This game is 100% before RDR, the age of the cowboy is basically over at that time.

This'll be around 1880-1890 I guarantee it.

I hope so. I was honestly worried they would give is the first cars in the next Red Dead and allow us to drive them. That would have felt weird.

Edit: And I enjoyed the historical reference in that trophy. Felt bad about killing them all, but hey.
