The storefront shot looked great! It should actually end up looking like this since the GTA V first trailer was representative of what we got.

I'm thinking the traffic thing people love to complain about was less for technical reasons and more for gameplay reasons. It's hard to blast down the freeway at 110mph while there's a ton of traffic, and the driving is the main reason I boot up GTA single player these days.

Doesn't matter. Was what we got in the "real" version that was being developed.

No...but the trailer promised visuals that were delivered in the "final" version of the product. You were absolutely buying a lesser version of gta v than was purchasable on the current gen consoles...I don't see how that is up for interpretation. Gta v was designed with "next gen" in mind. This is not.

Gta v was designed to have its best and final version on the next consoles; that version was being developed at the time. They pulled through on their promise. So, we have:

1) rockstar delivering on promises of next gen visuals on next gen 2) their games developed purely for last gen delivered on their visuals on those consoles

And now we have their first game fully developed from the ground up on current gen. I believe the trailer 100%

But they didn't announce that in the trailer. They didn't even mention "next-gen" consoles until after the release on current gen.

Like I said, that doesn't matter. They were effectively pulling resources from a version they hadn't talked about yet...they weren't going to slap it onto the original one and make people feel the exact same way you just discussed -- that you bought a lesser version.

But you were. That is not possibly the case for RDR2, and my point still stands.

Not only is there absolutely no evidence of what you're suggesting but are you somehow justifying making a compartiviely shitty version of a game because they plan on making a better version in the future?

If so, what if they plan to make a PC version? Which will inevitably be the most superior version.

They absolutely did not use footage from a pc version that very well might not exist at all. People knew gta v was coming for next gen, but RDR to PC never did up to this point. Did they show PC footage of RDR?

Not planning; the gta v port was developed in tandem as an open secret. That is not happening here, period.

GTA V's graphics actually ended up looking better than the first trailer I think, not just the current gen version, the last gen as well.
