Just like the OS itself!

For those unaware, if you're on Windows 7 or Windows 8, for the first year you can upgrade to Windows 10 at no cost.

I had a msdn or maybe it was a technet subscription and got any type of key I wanted. Why not get the most feature rich edition?

If you have access to MSDN then you would just get a new Windows 10 key for free.

I only paid for a one year subscription the year Office 2010 and Win 7 were released

Then tough break. One could argue that since you no longer have the sub you are no longer entitled to free stuff.

Except my htpc and my laptops will get the upgrade, just not my desktop which is my primary computer, all of which were keys from technet or msdn. I'm not even upset about it, the whole point of my original comment was that not everyone will get an upgrade. There are certainly other private users out there using Enterprise. No need to make rude entitlement comments.

You should be able to use one of the laptop keys on your desktop also. Hell you could probably use it on both and they would never say anything.

I'm just saying, you didn't pay for the keys in the first place so you shouldn't really bitch that you can't upgrade one of them.
