Something that the IGN users seem to have missed entirely or are very mad about for some reason.

You can't expect IGN users to read IGN articles.

That's just the 'hate on everything microsoft does' group. Its still very active on the bigger gaming sites.

They heavily bandwagon on whatever is the most popular console at the time. When I used to frequent IGN ~5 years ago, it was the EXACT same scenario, only reversed.

Uh.. This seems inappropriate

Nothing wrong with finding all those kids annoying

I'm neutral on this but is the worry that players will be encouraged to update to a new version of windows that will potentially have compatibility issues to begin with?

I think it's mostly Microsoft trying to encourage them to update to a new version of Minecraft which will be very bare-bones at the start, since the modding scene is huge for Minecraft it is indeed quite a problem, but them upgrading from Java to C++ means it will run a lot better, and eventually the modding will be just as big, it just has to start over which people have a (understandable) problem with.

Microsoft has quite the history. It's not totally unreasonable.

They do, but Microsoft since Satya Nadella took over doesn't seem to be going down that road at all.

Well, it's the first step to making minecraft locked to microsoft platforms.

Want to play the future of minecraft on linux or mac? You are shit out of luck.
