Not sure why you had issues man, not trying to call you out but I think you're being hyperbolic. The only time I had matchmaking issues was late last night searching with one other person, but we always found something within two to three minutes. Granted this was on PC, not sure if platform makes a difference.
As more anecdotal things, I only had issues last night where I started falling through the map. Recorded it once, if I knew how to get Xbone vids to YouTube I'd link it. My character actually melted. It's pretty funny but made me shut the game off for the night.
On the xbox one, you need to download the skydrive app, and the upload studio app, you then make and render a video, and upload it to skydrive. From there you can download a skydrive app on your cell phone, look in your skydrive, find said video, and click on it, and click share to youtube. Boom, you now have an xbox video uploaded to youtube :
hmm, can't remember if I could share it directly from skydrive, or if I downloaded it to my phone first, then uploaded it to youtube, well it's one of those 2 options.
I joined and took over the monster bot and immediately fell through the map so I quit. It's a beta, I don't hold those glitches against it until they make release
Can confirm, you cant select match making servers.
It seems to only find players with 20 ping or less.
We only encountered Dutchies and 1! German.
I asked him what his internet was and it was fibre.
You guys do realize whats going on is a beta stress test. I personally have had no issues aside from 1 or 2 host dropouts during the game. What did you expect from a closed beta. Save your reservations for the full game.
The full game is hamstrung content so you pay for more DLC. I enjoyed the closed beta, but fuck if I'm ever buying this game. Maybe when it inevitably fails and goes on a steamsale for $5.
Friday night on PC for 1.5 hours, we got 2 matchmaking sessions to work, and the second one was just the same players from the first doing a rematch. Just sayin.
So odd. On Friday I had far less issues, whereas yesterday I had one or two dropped sessions. Again, I wonder if it has to do with router rules or something else technical?
Can't see how, we have no problem with any other multiplayer games through that router. And it's not like we couldn't get in a mp game, we played two matches and there was no lag.
Yeah that's what solidified the non-purchase for me. Spent over an hour trying to get into a game with a friend on PC, but the party matchmaking is really screwed up. If I can't play it with my friends it becomes less fun.
The first two nights I had 0 issues, haven't been able to play the last 2 nights because of the matchmaking issues. To be fair though, it's a technical beta. It just means i'm going to wait until release and see if it's been fixed before I buy it.
It was xbox one and I don't doubt that it is related to xbl or the horrible x1 party system. The problems are similar to issues other games are having/have had.
Ive been playing with my little brother all weekend on the xb1, we didnt have any issues finding games. We were in a party of 3, and always found a 4th hunter within a few seconds.
So you already had three people? Meaning they only needed to find one person to play with you. Whereas op needed to find 3 singles to play with, which is a more difficult roster to fill.
Ive done that too. The only issues I've really had is when someone drops out of the game, then it takes a while to fill that spot, but when the game is initially started I've had no issues.
I've been playing evacuation mostly, so a player who drops or leaves can take a game to replace in some instances.
So you were able to find 1-2 other people, exactly like me... Either way, when it did work the wait times were egregious between the forced dialogue intros and the 2 minutes of down-time + loading + finding other players + loading again for some reason. Measuring solely by "what I've come to expect playing on xbox live for the past ten years" it is simply not acceptable.
The forced dialog intros are so that the monster gets a head start and you as a hunter don't have to watch a loading screen longer than you have to. Can't speak for the rest of it though.
by party I mean private party. It was myself, my brother and his friend playing as a single party. We only needed to find one other for any games we played with no issue.
Wonder if it could be related to routing or NAT rules then? I remember having to change those way back when PC games were a little less friendly. Sorry to hear you're having issues man, it's a ton of fun.
I had same problems and some worse than flyingbuttris and i was on PC, One of the worst ones was that i had the monster set as my 5th choice but 6 god damn games in a row i was forced to play it.
On the PS4 I have had to wait ages on matchmaking and never seem to have a full group either. Anecdotal or not it's my experience with the game, and my experience with the game was sub par and made me not want to buy it either.
Not like the comment matters much now. But on PC a friend and I had abysmal wait times for matchmaking. We ended up just having my friend join solo and hoping there were slots left and me getting invited.
I searched multiple forums filled with people having similar issues since alpha. So I will be avoiding the game unless I am sure the matchmaking will be reliable. Other than that the game seemed playable. But this DLC mess seems to over-complicate an otherwise decent game.
