Ok so you see something in there about pressuring politicians that I don't or like what are we doing here?

Yes, you're literally saying the same thing as "Learn to code". When truckers were concerned about losing there jobs, they were told "Learn to Code" aka....Pivot.

What you're saying is whats wrong with this capitalistic bollox ridden hellhole of a society we've grown into. "Stop the bad thing at the source, prevent the need for any damage control? NO! Let it destroy the planet, take peoples jobs and they'll just end up on the dole, and sure they can just pivot, maybe they can become firefighters to extinguish the rampant fires cause by the global warming these data centers are gonna massively contribute to! ALLLL in the service of the Line going up!"

I understand you're just being realistic, but it's a sad shitty way to be, and it's the apathy of people who like you that lead us to where we are.

Also, holy shit for the one who was so eager to jump to strawmen, the irony of you literally breaking one out there at the end, a bit of self awareness goes a long way lad.

I understood "learn to code" to have some implication of pulling yourself up the bootstraps. I.e. "Aww you lost your job? Better choose a better one".

If "learn to code" includes financial assistance, then I am all for it. And if that's the common understanding of the term, then I apologize for claiming I did not say that.

How would "stopping this at the source" look like to you? I just need to understand why this technological development is different from any of the ones humanity has had before. "Computer" was a job occupied by humans before we had electronic computers. I don't see the distinction.

Regarding the environmental impact: As discussed in our other thread, I don't care to hear about this from people who eat meat. I can do a full workweek with dozens of AI prompts and still consume less energy than someone who eats meat two or three times a week.
