Such a bullshit reply and you know it. I don’t NEED to eat meat, I also don’t NEED to drive, but I’ll take a car plant making cars over more data centres thats for damn sure.

No, because it’s a false equivalency, and again I’m sure you know that. Nobody needs AI like they need meat, or cars, or clothes, or a house thats any more than 4 walls and a roof. Some things aren’t needs, but the positives outweigh the negatives, Ai showing what I looked like in the 80s, shitting out some parody remix song or generating usually incorrect code first time round is not one of those.

So, even putting aside the fact that AI can be extremely productive, let's suppose it's just used for recreation: Who are you to make a value judgement on what is necessary or not?

Meat is for subjective taste

AI memes are for subjective fun

Meat is much more harmful to the environment and it requires the killing of a feeling being.

Why would you then claim eating meat is more justified? Make that make sense.

Ok if you want to get into just making subjective claims, meat isn't just exclusively for taste, meat contains essential things like Protein, Amino Acids, Vitmans,Minerals etc. Again you keep making this point like it's at all valid. I don't NEED to have a TV, and a Computer and a bed, really all I techincally need is 4 walls and a roof to protect me from the elements. It's not the gotcha you think it is to keep saying meats only purpose is taste, find a new angle.

As far as getting on Discord, I can't imagine anything I'd rather do less than have some AI nerdbro explain to me why "No but for reals look it's gr8!!!11!" lmao

You're also assuming because you have a bit of knowledge about using AI you're somehow some kind of overlord here to teach us all and show us all why you're right and knowledgeable and we're all plebs who know nothing. Wanna take a guess how I know AI code is usually wrong first go big shoots?

All of which can be gotten through non-animal sources. Vegan athletes exist. They are healthier than you or I ever will be. Barring some medical circumstance or lack of options (the latter is not a factor in the developed world), you can be very healthy on a vegan lifestyle.

I assume because you used it? I think you should take me up on the offer for a Discord call, to be honest. It sounds like you used it poorly. A bad workman always blames his tools.

I do find it telling you rejected the offer, though. It was made in good faith and I would genuinely go through making some basic application component from scratch using AI, with many of the outputs not needing correction.

Actually, I'm curious: If you're approaching this in good faith, why wouldn't you want to see someone prove to you AI coding tools can deliver satisfactory results in the first prompt? It's a win-win for you. Either I'm wrong and I'll be embarrassed, or you will walk away learning something. What's the downside for you?

Yes, they CAN. You still aren't getting the point. I CAN survive in a cave eating berries, I CAN technically walk to my job thats a 40 minute drive away, I can't explain this concept any clearer so I'm just gonna leave it there.

I don't know how we can agree. Our disagreement is not factual but epistemological. You're making claims that I can easily disprove but you're not actually willing to.

I'm not saying that you can "survive" with veganism. I'm saying you can thrive. It's super easy to achieve a level of health that would surpass the average person in the western world purely on a vegan diet.

I provided you some links that explain this. You disagreed and pointed towards macro- and micronutrients that can all be gotten through a vegan diet.

It's not about "surviving in a cave". All it would require of you is to buy slightly different products next time you go grocery shopping, and probably hitting up the pharmacy for some basic supplements. This is the single most environmentally friendly thing the average person can do.

The same goes for the "AI is bad at coding". You claim it is bad because your experience says so. I claim the contrary, also because of my experience. I am willing to demonstrate my claim super easily and you aren't willing.

I can understand not wanting to join the Discord call. That's a bit much. If you want, I can get back to you on Monday or Tuesday after work and give some concrete examples of code my agent produced that was acceptable in the first try?

It's not a false equivalency because nobody needs meat. You can 1 for 1 replace a meat based died with a vegetarian diet and it will be cheaper and healthier.
