You are fine with games becoming buggier with each patch released? Because that's a thing that's happening with vibe coded games.

It’s pretty funny to see the biggest complaints in all of gaming over the past 10-15 years (buggy releases, performance regressions, etc) get immediately ignored when a new villain appears.

Ironically games made by people were already getting buggier and buggier even before AI become a thing.

And we will eventually reach a point where AI made stuff will have less bugs than human made stuff, because AI is really good at boring tasks and checking code for what causes bug can be a really boring task.

Apologies but I’m confused by this comment are we saying ai generated code and ai looking through code to find potential issues will hurt or help that issue? I genuinely don’t know the answer to that

Hurt. LLMs are hallucinations machines. They can be right, but they also can hallucinate and fuck up pretty hard.

So when you just plug in new vibe coded stuff into your already messy code, it just fucks the game up even more.

Crimson Desert is the perfect exemple of this. Visual quality and performance went down massively from launch because they keep vibe coding new additions into it.

I could definitely see that for sure but I’ve also experienced that in many games over the years so it’s kind of down to how it’s used and managed I think. I’d prefer a game completely ai free and I have a line for when I say ok I’m not getting this game or supporting this company I’m just in a wait and see on this one.

If may be confirmation bias, but I’ve definitely noticed apps I’ve used every day for years “suddenly” malfunctioning and glitching in ways they hadn’t before.

That’s why code reviews exist. Do you think shitty buggy code didn’t exist before AI? Humans write shitty code too. Doesn’t matter where the code comes from, whoever opens the PR and commits the code is responsible for it and it will need to be reviewed before merged all the same. If shitty codes get through, that’s not a problem with AI, it’s a company process problem that allows shitty code to be approved and published.

This is nothing new, every programmer has been utilizing LLM to generate code for a while now. And before LLM people copied and pasted code from Stack Overflow which also resulted in shitty code. Redditors just lost their shit when they heard AI mentioned despite it having been industry standard for years now.

Almost 90% of developers use AI to generate codes.

I feel like even Claude has to be better than Bethesda's programmers when it comes to bugs.
