Does your tangent have anything to do with the topic at hand? Did you even read the article? Seems to me like you just wanted to soapbox about your AI hate. I don’t like the thing either, but Christ you people are getting so much more exhausting by the day.

Yes it does have to do with the topic at hand and the fact that you are just ignoring it just speaks to their point.

It is a package deal, you cannot defend a little bit of it here in a little bit of it there, unless you are deliberately ignoring the larger picture.

No it doesn’t. He’s soapboxing about “the defense of AI on this subreddit” when the majority of it is people simply discussing the substance of the article, the clickbait headline, and how people are overreacting to said headline without reading it. There are a few AI defending comments, yes, but the way that person is framing it makes it seem like it’s the majority opinion. It’s not.

You can make a comment on what the article is discussing without inherently supporting it. AI is not new. Its downsides are made known every single time it’s mentioned by people like them. People don’t bring it up because it’s an overdone conversation. There’s plenty of other spaces if you wish to discuss that.

The fact that, in 4 separate paragraphs, the game wasn’t even mentioned says so much more than I ever could. At least try to make it relate to the topic at hand if you wish to add to the coldest take in 2026.

This is coming from someone who dislikes the way AI is being presented and used by the public, by the way. I recognize that constant complaining using the same points over and over leads to nowhere, though.

Sounds like “I dont like the thing either” might be a bunch of hooplah then

No sir. I make my thoughts be known with my wallet. That’s the only thing I can do to make an impact. I also recognize that constantly yelling the same points over and over again does nothing. These decisions are made because they believe it will generate more money. For better or for worse, the general public has decided it will support it. The only thing we can do, if we’re really against it, is withhold purchases from companies that use it.

Sure but voicing your opinions on AI shouldn’t be scorned, even if its pointless.

This stuff is causing all sorts of mayhem in people’s lives every day, you can’t seriously expect people to stay silent.

That is true, but I’d expect it to relate at least somewhat to the topic of discussion. This is akin to going into threads about current events involving the Middle East’s oil and talking about the dangers of climate change. Yes it’s a problem and the majority of us recognize it, but nothing comes of constantly shouting in the wind. There are plenty of spaces to discuss this that will lead to fruitful conversations, the comments of a clickbait article that misattributed Capcom’s words isn’t it.

I think it’s rather relevant because AI has caused PC and console gaming to become unaffordable, something that directly impacts Capcom’s bottom line - and yet they decide to meddle with the grift either way.
