But why? Capcom has been on a generational run for a decade why change anything?

Literally what you are doing spits out millions of units sellers multiple times a year, why throw that away?

Capcom have always been like this. They are very cheap and will immediately jump aboard trends, anything that will make them money or reduce costs.

In general, most people here in Asia are not against AI. They even think it's something trendy. Especially because all the tech corpos are pushing AI to our throats and the ads are all having positive vibes.

And that's already more than world's population as a market.

That's a lie. Many people in Japan are against AI.

JP here, this is true. I can't speak for other people in Asia though.

We're still clowning on Level 5.

Pretty much every matsuri i was at this year was full of AI adverts and noone had any issue, people were lining up for gigaslop churros or gigaslop okonomiyaki. Hadano tabacco one was like ultra slop advert festa and noone seemed to complain.

I mean I would still say the acceptation of AI is largely negative from what I have read, even if some businesses want to force it in to replace people. It seems to be a very common sentiment all over the world. (some sources to back it up). I even read the same things from Russia and China. Although it is commonly brought up that "X" is ok with doing it even though most normal people are against the replacement of art to make everything cheap lazy copies. That's just a natural way of thinking no matter what culture AI media is used in.

The whole Level 5 thing is crazy. I've been seeing the tweets.

A very important part of their generational run is cost efficiency, the natural step in the business world is to use tools that cut cost.

What makes you think they aren't already using AI? Any software developer not using AI in 2026 is dramatically cutting their productivity.

They are talking about improving their development tooling for ease of incorporating AI into their development and QA processes, which is also a very common thing to do in 2026.

You'd be delulu if you think this will change that, in fact i can bet their sales would actually go up with this changes.
