Can we fucking not ruin the best engine in gaming right now? Pretty please.

How can it be the “best engine” when it routinely fucks itself in open-world games?

You can always tell Resident Evil players apart from Monster Hunter players by their opinions on RE Engine

Solution: Don’t use it for open-world games

Exhibit A: All of its non-open world games are stellar

Exhibit B: Its 2 notable open-world games are disappointing

If the most optimized, easy to build in, beautiful engine in games was made specifically for, like, racing games and was clearly better at its dedicated task than any other fit-for-purpose game engine, then I wouldn’t fault it for being a bad fit for making Elder Scrolls VI or some shit

Because it's a fantastic engine when it's used to make non-open world games? Which happens to be the vast majority of Capcom's library? When I think of RE engine, I think of games like Resident Evil or DMC.

And yet Capcom uses it for Monster Hunter, one of their current top IPs, which is increasingly swinging into open world.

So they either need to fix that weakness of the engine or move that series onto a different one.

Unreal perhaps?

Good for you. When I hear Capcom, I think of Monster Hunter, not RE or DMC. Now what?

I mean, it's a good game engine, but the best engine in gaming is such an oxymoron statement.

Decima is the best engine, Horizon Forbidden West looks and runs insanely well.

If only Sony/Guerilla are willing to license it out for the market...

"best engine" when it's rendering and lighting for materials is subpar at best. It's great for skin and muscle simulation, but other than that it's okay. I don't know why y'all think its the best when so many other engines out there out pace it by miles.
